This was something weird that came to my mind. And I don't know how long I'll be able to go on with this Idea, so if the readers support me by suggesting something it would be great. See, I thought, why not do an AryLie OS from other people's opinion of them, and I got into the idea then. But what was difficult for me to determine was which character to begin with, then I thought, why not just write what you want, and then I began, with a little insignificant character and then it became too big for an OS. So I would like it if you could suggest which character you would like the Inner Thoughts of, but 5 characters that are guaranteed are, Satyakam, Meethi, Narmada, Arpita and Aditya.

Hope you enjoy it.

This can now be found here too - Aryan&Imlie

Sathish, an Intern at Bhasker Times

Sathish was not from a village, nor was he from a diverse background. He got a position as an intern in Bhasker Times purely as normal people got jobs, by applying in a placement drive in his college, where he got into by being a normal student, no scholarships, and no donations, just fees. He would not call himself a brilliant student but he did well, he got grades that would get him a good internship, which would eventually lead to a good job.

The day he entered Bhasker Times, there was a rumour around the mill that the CEO of the newspaper company had changed and the new one was apparently there to boost the sales of the newspaper. His thought at that time was that's what the management is supposed to do at a company, and that it was none of his business except that he should work hard to earn the job, and that would be enough.

Then it went around the rumour mill that the new CEO would bring his own intern with him, and again he thought okay, there would be five of them instead of four, good for him, reduction in workload and all that. It wasn't long before he realised that the rumour mill also foretold that this intern would be a spoilt brat who was someone well connected and doing it as just a hobby. It was pretentious of them but, it seemed that, most of the people accepted it. Somewhere, he began believing it too.

But then they met Imlie. That girl was a whole lot of adjectives and Sathish was never not tired enough to think of all of them. He worked with her because that was what they came here to do, tolerated her because she was weird in her own right, and appreciated her because she was a girl from a village, a diverse background, into college on scholarships and a real hard worker. There wasn't a whole lot not to like about Imlie.

He wasn't going to lie and say that he didn't get jealous when her article made front page, her first ever, but that article would no doubt boost the sales of Bhasker Times, because his mother, who got a subscription to the newspaper just because her son worked there, called and basically gushed about that article. His mother, who didn't even like the course he had chosen for his life, was gushing over an article in the newspaper.

But the day he formed his own opinion on Imlie was the day she gave up her own lunch because he had forgotten his and that was kindness that he didn't expect people to show. He was influenced by many people for his opinion on Imlie, what with Aditya Sir’s raving condolences of their relationship, and the offices rumour mill, which basically called her a gold digger because she was on the front page too soon, it was the little things he saw at the Tripathi House that strengthened his view of her.

And he may disagree with the rumour mill regarding Imlie being a gold digger, but he could never deny that he saw something between Imlie and their CEO. It wasn't because Imlie got promoted after her second article, because that was the bomb, and certainly not because how Aryan Sir had treated her in the circus that was Tripathi House, nor was it him trying to post bail for Imlie as soon as possible and then following her into a literal warzone.

No, what he noticed was a certain energy between them, a synergy if he were to elaborate.

The little things, that in the grand scale of things, were not that much important, but if seen collectively, painted a whole new picture.

It was the way he never guessed who was driving the car when they were coming to the office.

It was the way he saw Aryan Sir literally switching from black coffee to, for lack of better word, milk coffee.

It was the way in which Aryan distracted Imlie when she was working a serious piece.

It was the way in which Imlie comforted him with a cup of coffee when the sales of the newspaper dropped again.

It was the way Aryan Sir went home with Imlie when she threatened him with the elbow in the back shot.

It was the way Imlie went home with Aryan Sir when he brought up that his mother and his sister were waiting for them.

It was the way she called Aryan Sir "Tum".

It was the way he called Imlie "Imlie".

And somewhere along the way, he stopped thinking of them as Aryan Sir and Imlie, and began thinking of them as Aryan&Imlie.

He liked Imlie, she was weird, eccentric if you will, and she cried too much, but she was talented and kind.

He liked Aryan Sir, he was a bloody tough boss, and he did favour his intern, and no, he will never admit to that in front of anyone, but he was a boss that saw your efforts and rewarded you for them, and punished the ones who didn't put in the effort.

But he liked Aryan&Imlie more, because they worked in a way that would be totally impractical to imagine, but also only possible in imagination.

Aryan Sir was the fire to Imlie's water, but Imlie too, was the fire to Aryan Sir's water.

He was the only one to make her curb her emotions, she was the only one to make him show his emotions.

She was someone who wasn't afraid of him, he was someone she wasn't responsible for.

They were like puzzle pieces, they just had to find each other to complete the picture.

Oh Komald! This is just such a perfect little piece of character sketching if I have ever seen one. The way this could be shown with the camera follow outwardly vision is chef's kiss.

Please do continue and tag me in future installments?

This is good. I may be the only one saying this but do one from Malini's point of view. Not the ranting and raving one but the one who can see how Aryan is in love with Imlie the way she never saw Aditya be in love with Imlie and how she knows that Aditya will never love Malini the same way either. Remember the dialogues Malini had before her wedding about how Aditya could never decide what he wanted, that clear headed Malini.

But can't wait to read more..

First, thank you for the tag!

Second- I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! I always thought the "giving up her lunch" scene was so underrated! I'm so glad I got to see this from Satish's POV. Excellent!

May I recommend a second to this story? Perhaps from one of the jealous/gossipy office girls?

Beauty... As always ❤️

Love this idea of perspectives...

This flowed too smoothly.

But SK has not seen them together yet nor did imlie tell him about Aryan when she met him so on what basis you'll write about SK's perspective?

And hey pls write aparna and Radha too na 😆

I wanna know their insecure opinions on arylie 🤣
