Aarohi goenka is winner and she's really happy these days.
She took a patient's file from a gullible intern, so that she had an excuse to go to his office (she shouldn't have too but soon....)
Aarohi heard voices before she entered, Abhimanyu's angry voice followed by Akshara's melodious one.
(Like Beethoven's symphony, where the thunderous sound of orchestra is always followed by the soft thin flute) Great! Now she's even thinking like Akshara, she needs to spend less time with her.
Crash.... She opened the door and entered.
(The first thing that strikes her is, it's a lot of blood for a small cut)
Akshara looks over at him and practically freezes and then.....
"Do you even realise how stupid..., You're suppose to be a smart surgeon, what if....."
"It's just a cut, no big-deal".
(Aarohi realize she's in middle of a full Akshara freak-out. And it had to be him to bring that side of her out. She don't overanalyze things and wonder why. It's not worth it.)
Akshara looks a little subdued. And then takes his finger and putting it in her mouth, and gently begins to draw out blood. He snatches his hand back.
"What are you doing?"
(Aarohi didn't notice the lowering of his voice, or the tenderness in her eyes, she doesn't notice a lot of things. It's a good way to live)
" What does it look like I am doing? I am trying to prevent the wound from becoming septic". She snatches his hand back.
Aarohi's throat felt constricted and she have to(can't) look away.
The scene before her is so sensuous, Akshara's hair falling on his hand, his finger in her mouth, his eyes on her bent head. And Aarohi vaguely remember she had read somewhere that finger-tips are the most erogenous parts of the body.
It strikes Aarohi as hilarious that, she been ripped in half and all she remembers is "Ten things to drive him crazy with".
(Aarohi bought that book when she first decided she wanted Abhimanyu. She is not a topper by doing nothing. Ofcourse she didn't get the chance to use it on him. She wanted to laugh and cry at the same time at the fact that her sister did. Like Akshara needed to.)
The still of the moment lingers in the air, like cold air after heavy downpour.
Without realising, Aarohi took a step back, for some reason she made sure she closed the door behind her quietly. Like they would have noticed even if she banged it. They were looking at each other, his finger still in her mouth, her hairs flying. Lost in their own little world.
Let them have this moment, what does it matter. At the end of the day Abhimanyu was hers(right?).
She's just going to pretend, this day never happened.
P.S. so how was it? My first fic, lots of grammatical errors I guess. Do ignore.
