K Jo and Farah are the worst things to have happened to him.

These films for friends are reason why many actors in past also had downfall.

That's complete nonsense. Kjo and Farah always delivered hits (or even Blockbusters with him). SRK's terrible choices in the last decade (especially the second half) had little to do with them. Just because you don't like their movies doesn't mean they weren't popular

Hell I'm no fan of HNY but its actually the last hit movie of SRK. Since then every one of his movies has been underwhelming at the box office which is what matters..

The supposedly "great" directors and better filmmakers like Aanand Rai and Imtiaz Ali (even Rahul Dholakia) failed with him. It was a mistake to do weird movies like Fan & Zero and in general unappealing stuff like JHMS and Raees. This time he is going back to masala and as long as its not too stupid it should do well.

That's all he cares about now, a good Box office result. Not awards or what critics & snobs on the internet think. Their suggestions lead to shit like Fan

Imagine rejecting Munnabhai MBBS, 3 Idiots, Lagaan, only to work with Farah Khan. 😀

Anyday 3 Idiots is a bigger hit than any Farah or K Jo film.

And in 2006, Lage raho Munnabhai outgrossed KANK which did well only abroad but was cold in India.

I heard he was approached for Robot also? If true then even worse. Rajinikanth gave highest grosser at 60 plus with Robot. Imagine rejecting Robot only to do Ra One or whatever.

He rejected many good films only to work with comfort zone of KJo and Farah or Chopra type friends.

He has bad script sense no doubt. Not doing Lagaan and 3 Idiots is especially stupid.

But I don't see how in the last few years he has been working with "Chopra type friends" or Kjo at all. In fact SRK tried to branch out. Imtiaz Ali, Aanand Rai etc. should have delivered good movies with him. They just failed.

It seems you are just focused on his movies with Farah and KJO even though they have nothing to do with his decline.

SRK made lots of bad choices last decade but I think another reason he failed is because he didn't make movies that were appealing to the masses.

Like in a time when Akshay is doing patriotic movies, Aamir does Dangal, Salman does Sultan SRK came out with Fan.

Now it was flawed in the second half but even if that wasn't the case its not really blockbuster material at all. Same for JHMS (slow dragged out romance movie, nothing like his earlier popular romance movies which were accessible). Zero had Bauua who is like the most annoying romantic character SRK has played, people loved Rahul/Raj/Veer but not him for good reasons.

Thoughts?

I blamed Farah and K Jo because they have often colluded with him and egged on him to bash, mock other stars as well earning dislike of people thanks to their cheap jokes on others at talk shows and award shows.

And it is likely due to them, SRK rejected Munnabhai MBBS, Lagaan, RDB, 3I. Most likely over his friends he rejected Robot as well.

He has worked with other filmmakers mentioned by you, much later. Imitiaz Ali or Anand Rai came later. By then better offers had dried up.

He remains in his comfort zone of friends among filmmakers and particular genre. He has failed to sense changing trends and times.

The haughty friends like K Jo were still mentally stuck in delusions of own supremacy like 90s.
