Hey guys, thought of writing a one shot which ended up being too long. So will possibly be a two shot or a three shot. We shall see based on how long they end up being. I have an idea of how this TS will end, it's just the writing in between left. I have no idea how Purvi's reaction will be after she sees Vir-Sakshi together but this is my imagination. Of course we'll have to wait and see how it unfolds in the show but for now, the first part.
Betrayal
Purvi was shell shocked at the sight before her. Her husband, her Mukhiji, in bed with Sakshiji. His chest bare, one hand on her shoulder and her head on his chest. There was some alcohol on one of the bedside tables, Mukhiji's kurta on the headboard and a yellow sari on the floor. She was in such a shock that the plate in her hands fell to the floor, leading to a big 'clang'. Hearing the noise seemed to wake one of the two sleeping inhabitants. Mukhiji creased his eyebrows at the noise and started stirring. He scratched his eyelids, trying to make sense of the headache he was having. He slowly got up and looked straight ahead to see Bawri standing there in shock. Seeing her standing there made him realise something. He closed his eyes and remembered the previous few hours. Him dancing with Bawri, her giving him a drink, her hair wet as they romanced and eventually went to bed together. But if she's standing there... He looked towards his right and noticed a prone Sakshi there.
Vir got up immediately out of bed as if he was burned. As he did so he grabbed the sheet to cover himself. Purvi averted her eyes as Vir picked up his clothes and dressed himself. Sakshi was still lying prone on the bed. Purvi didn't want to look at her. Vir tried to speak but he stuttered as he struggled for words. Struggled to process what was happening. Purvi slowly backed out of the room and ran away. Seeing this, Vir started running after her. He needed to explain.
As the husband-wife duo left the room, Sakshi opened her eyes and smirked knowing the confrontation that was about to happen. She didn't need to do anything now. She had lit the spark, now the fire would burn Mukhiji and his molki's relationship. She got up and out of bed to reveal herself to be in her gown. Nothing had happened. Unfortunately Mukhiji had fallen unconscious before anything could happen between them but that didn’t matter. That molki had seen what Sakshi needed her to. Now let's see how much Purvi trusts Mukhiji. Purvi had too much self respect to stay with Mukhiji now after this. If Mukhiji asked, she would state that she gave in as she can't deny him. She was alway his and always will be. She had finally won, it was only a matter of time and that molki would be out of her and Mukhiji’s life. Mukhiji may not accept her immediately or he might take a lot of time but that didn’t matter. Once Purvi was gone, she would stay for her children and gradually worm her way back into Mukhiji’s life once more. Sooner or later, he would have to accept her.
—---------------------------
In the meantime, Vir chased after Purvi as he watched her run towards their room. He managed to catch up to her as she attempted to close the room door. She slammed the door and it caught his hands. He hissed in pain but that didn’t matter now. He was just concerned with how to stop her from locking herself in her room. Without him getting a chance to speak to her about what she just saw. Vir begged to be let in so he could explain. 'Please let me in, please give me a chance to explain.' For a moment, Purvi considered denying his request but then recalled when her and Yogi were caught in a similar position. Maybe I should give him a chance? She recalled the several times Mukhiji hadn't trusted her when she was innocent but she wasn't going to do that. She would give him a chance to give his reasons for what happened. Then she would make her decision.
Purvi allowed Vir entry into their room and he proceeded to lock the door so their conversation was private and no one could eavesdrop. As Vir entered, he started pacing the room frantically along with holding his head trying to understand what had happened. I was with Bawri, then how did Sakshi end up in her place? How did that happen?
Purvi: So... You wanted to explain. Explain. What happened?
Vir: Bawri, please trust me. I have no idea how I ended up in Sakshi's room and her in bed with me. Trust me, I can never dream of doing something like this... Especially to you. I love you so much.
Vir tried getting closer to Purvi as he spoke but she moved back.
Purvi: Please don't come near me. So tell me, what happened?
Vir: I remember just going through my files when I started getting a headache. That's when you came…
Purvi: Me?
Vir: Yes. You took me into the room. You gave me a few drinks and we…
Purvi: Yes?
Vir: We came closer, you danced for me, we became intimate and ended up sleeping together for the first time. I specifically remember being with you. You were wearing a yellow sari. That's why I was confused when Sakshi was next to me. I expected to find you there.
Purvi: So you expect me to believe that I dragged you, not to our room, not this room but her room. Do you even hear yourself?
Then Purvi remembered something.
Purvi: Did you say yellow sari?
Vir: Yes. That's what you were wearing before we…
Purvi: I don't own a yellow sari.
Vir: Of course you do. You were wearing that.
Purvi: There was a yellow sari on the floor... In her bedroom.
The reality of what had happened sunk in as Purvi burst into tears. Her husband had cheated on her. He had sex with another woman.
Purvi: You slept with her!
Vir: No, no, no. That can't be right. I was with you the whole time.
Purvi: How can that be when I was at the temple?
Vir sat on the bed and buried both his hands in his face.
Vir: How can this be? I can't remember clearly but I remember being with you. I was feeling a bit dizzy but I remember your face clearly.
Purvi: That must have been the alcohol you were drinking, because I was not there. So in your drunken state, you became intimate with her? Is that right?
Purvi started pacing back and forth as she tried to wrap her head around what had happened and what she saw.
Purvi: Couldn't you wait Mukhiji? Ever since you mentioned about our suhaag raat, I thought it's maybe time to take our relationship to the next level. That's why I dressed up as a bride, for you. Stupid me(she laughed) I thought I'll go to the temple first to seek God's blessings before we become intimate but you couldn't wait and went to her instead. Now I ask you directly. No ifs and buts about it. Did you sleep with her?
Vir remembered the last few hours and came to the realisation that he must have slept with Sakshi whilst believing her to be Bawri. That was the only explanation. How could he do that? How did I drink so much?
Purvi: ANSWER ME!
Purvi started shoving him, demanding an answer.
Purvi: How could you do this to me? Did you not remember my love for even one moment when you touched her? What does she have that I don't? What was less in me?
By this point Purvi was pounding her fists into his chest and Vir tried to hold her hands but she moved away as soon as he tried to touch her.
Vir: No Bawri believe me. I only love you. There's nothing less in you. You're the only one for me. I don't feel anything for Sakshi.
Purvi: Yet it didn't stop you from sleeping with her. (she said bitterly)
Vir: I don't know what to say. I must have not been in my senses. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
When Vir tried to come closer, Purvi exploded in anger.
Purvi: Don't you dare come near me! Don't you dare try to touch me! You've lost that right. Leave me alone! GET OUT!
Vir tried once more to go towards his Bawri but she continued shouting at him to get out to the extent that she pushed him out of the room. He needed to give her time to calm down and then he would apologise again. No matter how many times he needed to, even if he needed to do so for the rest of their lives. He just hoped she would forgive him.
------------------------------
Vir stood outside Bawri's room just staring at the door. How had he hurt her so badly? How did he end up with Sakshi? All he remembered was being with Bawri. He didn't understand. The only one who could answer his questions was Sakshi. She had organised all this. She must have. Who else could be so twisted?
Angry at the situation and the possibility that Sakshi may have conspired this, Vir charged towards her room. Once there, he didn't bother knocking. He forcefully opened the door, calling out Sakshi's name.
Sakshi: Mukhiji, you're here. I was hoping to see you again tonight.
Sakshi noticed Vir’s anger
Sakshi: What's wrong? Why are you so angry?
Vir: Why are you pretending?
Sakshi: Pretending about what?
Vir: About what happened?
Sakshi: Oh that.
Vir: Yes, that. What happened? How did I end up here with you?
Sakshi walked closer to him and started holding his face.
Sakshi: You know what happened. We made love.
Vir: No!
Sakshi: Yes. You walked here yourself. You seemed quite drunk and then started drinking even more. You asked me to serve you, so I did. While I served you. You started touching my face in an intimate gesture and then we...
Vir: You did all this, didn't you?
Sakshi: What happened was between the both of us. You came to me.
Vir: No I clearly remember you bringing me here so don’t lie to me?
Sakshi: Okay. I did bring you here but the rest you did. You touched me first and I reciprocated.
Vir: Everything that’s happening between me and Bawri is your fault. You’ve ruined my marriage.
Sakshi: Don’t pin this on me. You are the one who is married. You are the one who cheated on your Bawri. So don't blame me. What can I do? I love you. I couldn't stop myself when you touched me so lovingly. I had been craving for this love for the past six years.
Vir: That wasn’t love. There’s only one person I love and that is Bawri. You knew what was happening was wrong and yet you didn't stop me.
Sakshi: As I said, I love you. I still see you as my husband and I always will. It was my duty to give you this pleasure. It's not my fault that that molki is depriving you.
Vir: Don't say anything against her. Bawri is not depriving me of anything.
Sakshi: Then why were you so desperate to touch me just a few hours ago. Clearly, you're not getting your needs fulfilled.
Vir: Shut up!
Vir walked menacingly towards her as if he could kill her there and then but Sakshi just hugged him.
Sakshi: Mukhiji, listen to me. I will fulfil all your needs. Forget her, you don't need her. Just let her go. Me, you Manas and Juhi can be a family again. We'll call Veer and Nandini back as well. We’ll be happy like we were before our accident.
Vir pushed Sakshi off of himself.
Vir: Just shut up! I came here for answers and I've got them. Now listen to one final thing. I will never take you back, especially after everything you've done.
Sakshi: I didn’t do anything by myself today, it was the both of us.One thing I don’t understand. You're not going to take me back but will your Bawri forgive you after what you've done. If it was me, I would. Even now I want you even though I know you love her but I'm willing to forget and move on. You should too.
Vir: Bawri lives in my heart and no one can take her place.
Vir started leaving from there and he was at the door when Sakshi gave one final statement.
Sakshi: You said the same about me once.
Vir didn’t respond and made his exit from her room. He didn’t want to be there for a second longer.
Sakshi: It's only a matter of time before you come back to me. This time the arrow has hit the target.
------------------------------
Vir didn't know what to do. He had slept with Sakshi. Bawri was never going to forgive him. If the situation was reversed, he didn't think he was big enough to forgive her so how could he expect that from Bawri. What do I do? He walked towards his and Bawri's room. He could hear her crying. He felt so helpless because he knew if he went anywhere near her, it would cause her more grief. He didn't wish to knowingly cause her more grief so he had no option but to leave her alone.
----------------------------
Purvi was sat on the floor of her room crying. How had her life come to this? She loved Mukhiji so much and she thought he felt the same way. Especially when he left Sakshi for her. How wrong she was. I guess he wasn't really over Sakshi ever. He didn't even give me a chance.
As she thought over the previous few hours she just got more and more angry. There's nothing wrong with me. This is all him. Why am I blaming myself? Purvi stood up and in her anger, threw the bedside lamp on the floor. One by one, she started throwing things around the room. It didn't make her feel any better but it was better than raising her hands on Mukhiji. Which is what she felt like doing. The more she was destroying, the more breathless she was getting. Finally there was only the bed left. As she looked at it, she could just picture Mukhiji and Sakshi together lying there. Smiling as they touched each other. She tried to block the images coming to her mind but she couldn't.
Purvi went and grabbed the covers, creased it and started throwing it aside. Then the same with the rest of the bedding. She was exhausted by the time the whole room was destroyed. However her tears just would not stop. She didn't even realise when she fell asleep on the floor.
------------------------------
Vir went to the drawing room. The drawing room had been his sanctuary in the past. Now he had ended up back here. Last time was due to the pain of losing Sakshi. Now he was on the verge of losing Bawri. What came over me? That was the question repeating in his head. How could he, the Mukhi, who doles out justice be unjust to his wife. Granted he had mistakes with her in the past as well but never such a grave injustice as this. He had been unfaithful to her. It was ironic that it was the same allegation he made on her a few times. Now he knew how it felt to be on the receiving end. Difference being that he was guilty.
Vir couldn't sleep because of his thoughts eating away at him along with the concern of how she's doing. He wondered if she would harm herself but instantly knew she would never do something like that. His Bawri was strong. For how long she would remain his Bawri, he didn't know. Whilst he was lost in these thoughts, there was a knock on his door.
------------------------------
Purvi found herself on the floor when she awoke after a while. She had no idea how long had passed and felt like she had had a bad dream. Then realisation struck when she saw the state of her room and how it came to be in that state. Her head was aching from all the crying but she decided she was done crying. No more. Not for a man who wasn't worthy of her. She needed to be strong and she now knew what she needed to do. Her mind made up, she walked out of her room and went towards the drawing room. She knew Mukhiji would be there, as he wasn't in any of the spare rooms when she walked past them. She didn't notice Sakshi watching her from afar.
Purvi finally made it to the door of the drawing room. She took a deep breath in and raised her hand to knock on his door...
