Joshi surname is not selective just to Gujaratis. Joshi is a common family name in Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Goaand Uttar Pradesh in India and Nepal. In Kathmandu valley, the surname Joshi is used by Newar Srēṣṭhas.
