Mohanlal started as a villain, moved to comedy, then drama and action. And yeah, he excelled at all. Considering the number of Mohanlal comedies (and action and drama) remade into many languages, including Hindi, the industry agrees.

Amitabh Bachchan is a good actor, but nowhere close to Mohanlal.

The only way to move Amitabh to the top will be to limit the field to commercial Bollywood.

I love Amitabh, but agree that Mohanlal is possibly Indias best actor !

And so did Amitabh Bachchan plus he can capture your attention without making you feel bored to tears. Like I said he is Tom Cruise+Mohan Lal+Al Pacino+ Danniel Day Lewis all rolled into one!

Mohanlal is a very good actor but not ' the complete actor ' like he refers to himself in his blog lol I'd say he's better than Bachchan but he chose to be a star . He was way better in his earlier films like Kattathe Kilikood ,Chitram or the ones with Sreenivasan before he got into the superstar thing with larger than life roles. Other than talent what Bachchan and Lal have in common is narcissism.

It's the hardest genre . Anyone can do slapstick but good comedy is hard. Only a few people get it right.
