When Akshara in her dream confession said that Abhi ne use khudse ka khud rishta banaya I was wondering how? Maybe the execution of it was not good bcuz of fast pace. But no, I think regardless of the pace, and ITV ness of the story... Abhi & Akshu's characters have been written beautifully and all the actions of the other characters also make sense according to their emotions & circumstances. We want people to be strong, fight the atrocities, no toxicness at all but woh kaha hota hain? families are made of humans. And all humans are grey and with flaws. You can be a hero in someone's life and a villain in another's. In Yrkkh also people are grey, and I hope it stays that way.
Coming to the topic of this post,In the beginning episodes when the "khud se khudka rishta" thing was being brought up I thought aaj kal everyone is about self love, tho ise bhi aapne aap ko janna hain, pasand karna like she was explaining to Kairav & Vansh. Afterall there is saying ki if you cant love yourself how can you love someone else?
She was saying to herself only someone who feels lonely even with family around can understand her(paraphased). I was thinking there are so many people who love her, she has to learn to not seek for Arohi's love over anyone else.
After the tilak drama when Arohi came upto Akshara and started blaming her there was no one around them. She kept on going but a little after Akshara started giving it back the camera pans to show the Goenkas. A little more back & forth b/w the girls and Manish asked both of them to shut up. That kind of made me wonder if a lot of these fights and arguments happen behind the doors or Arohi like today is subtle.
Arohi: Acha haina aaj hi jaa rahi hain
*Everyone stares at her*
Arohi: Jaldi jayegi tho jaldi wapas ayegi na

Par Akshu & Kairav understood.
She also behaves cordially with Akshu setting puja plates together, letting her take care of her, letting her kiss her forehead or hug her.... her hatred comes out either when they are alone ya when something happens otherwise subtle.
But Kairav notices more than anyone. Yeh bhi kehta hain ki kitna bhoj utarahi ho par also thinks she is capable of doing it but Arohi is a fragile doll. This is the same person she is the closest to yet so far.
No one understands Akshara. No one knows the extent of pain and hurt she carries. She is surrounded by people expecting her to be the bigger person. The responsible, caring, samajhdar elder daughter... so she will be able to adjust. She has stayed away from family before, independent hain she can handle herself. Hamesha khushi bath thi hain, positiviity dekhti hain har cheez main, she will be alright. Akshara's family does love her. I dont doubt that for now but they have failed in understanding her needs. She keeps everything inside because she always felt if she expressed anything it will only hurt others, it will just be a burden. Her hurt cant be expressed. No one made her feel ki its ok to let her heart out and not worry about others, that the repurcussions can be handled, solved in some way that lead to happiness for all. No. All she felt is if I say this, this person will be hurt, this person's happiness will be lost, it would be burden to him or she is a cause of pain to her.... & these people are all she knows, all she loved all her life. Her mom(the one who raised her) taught her family above everyone, her desires, her happiness. Even though she is hurting the most thts what she is supposed to do right?
At the same time she knows the injustice that is happening to her. She can see it, feel it but keeps justifying to herself. She keeps giving excuses for other's actions. Kairav bhiayya wants me to go away? Its okay he is being a brother whether thats for me or Arohi. (And oh my goodness, the moment I heard this I cried for her.) She knows. She knows the sacrifices she is doing and being asked to do. She knows the unfainess of it all. But she cant seem to put herself above either. She has been raised to put others mainly her family above her. She doesnt know how to do anything else.
She knows all of this which is why she wants to love herself. She wants to form a relationship with herself before she tangles herself in a whole another set of people whe she gets married. The khud se khud ka rishat baneni uski kwaish is for this.
Then she found a man who from the moment they met she felt a connection with. Aisa lagta hain ki pehle se hi jante ho ek dusre se. Someone who shares the similar principles as her. Someone whose eyes only look at her. His every gaze is filled with with love for her. Her words matter to him. A simple teasing on methi dana became so meaningfull. He understands her silence. She hears his unspoken words. He says it doesnt matter what the world says, only her words, her thoughts, her opinion, her feelings matters to him. He is not afraid to praise her and appreciate her, even her simplicity. He is not afraid to declare to the world how much he loves her and how her every gesture, every word, every look matters so much to him. Living in a world where she had to hide everything inside, no one understands her spoken words he gets her unspoken words too.(This guy even knows her rejection is a lie dude!) He makes her feel special. That she matters.
I remember a character in a story who has suffered emotional abuse for years say that sometimes you need someone to love you, to show you can be loved before you can learn to love yourself, I believe this is whats been happening here.
Loving Abhi, choosing him is her desire and her happiness. Even though she sacrificed it because she is so used to this, she will choose him over anyone else. Her happiness over others. That would be a treat to see.

aur Omg I have both seen and experienced this so much that I totally understand and relate to her a lot. Except I'm not so selfless that I can happliy sacrifice but to do so takes a lot of inner strength. To smile through the pain and bring positivity even for those around her... thats commendable. Pranali has done such a good job potraying Akshu as well. Akshu ka growth tho I really wanna see. Choosing herself, standing up for her own happiness, her relatioship with her sister mending, becoming successful in her music therapy ka career, finding happiness with Abhi, getting that motherly love from Manjari and forming relationships with Birlas...uff
