Hello everyone,
There comes the point in every show where fans make it unbearable to watch it without getting disturbed.
Being a part of this brigade once when I was in my early twenties on IF, the only thing it does is bring agony to everyone, including the ones abusing.
A piece of fiction garners a lot of love as well as flak. It's bound to happen. But, the heated tirades yield to the following things:
1. Self-agony and misery
2. Hate mongering towards actors, writers and crew who are MORE attached to the show than any of us could ever be. These are REAL people who spend hours writing and catering to the TG. It's bread and butter for them, and everyone wants to put our best foot forward despite what we want to think. Negative writing or lazy writing is a term invented by critics in filmography too. A writer writes with the best intentions. Something clicks, something is out of the box, and certain things are run of the mill.
3. Extreme allergy of the other cast and crew towards the actors whose fandom go on abuse or rampage. It happened with some great TV actors, and the production houses never wanted to sign them up again ever—Reason-avoidance of toxicity.
4. Neutral viewers leave the show while on air to avoid a tirade of abuses and rampage. Most of these neutral viewers grow allergic to the actors who are being worshipped as fans abuse anyone apart from them.
In short, a LOSS:
1. To the fans
2. Viewers
3. PH
4. Writers
A cumulative loss for everyone!
Does that mean we don't express displeasure? Certainly not! One needs to say the dislike for the track, at the same time at least give the makers a chance to tell the story.
Bella Hadid posted crying selfies; online abuse is creating such a stir in young impressionable minds.
All we need is probably a little empathy. Consumption of content is highly subjective, and many people trapped in this tangle of hate, abuse and invested emotions can seriously feel anxiety in real life!
Much love to everyone who has unsettled energies right now. People sitting behind usernames are REAL people. May we all have peace, harmony and be better human beings to each other.
PS IS ONLY A FREAKING TV SHOW!!!!!!!!!!
People are real!
Their emotions are real!
We all are here to entertain ourselves and not subject us to misery
