Despite having very similar cultures, especially with North India, Pakistani shows are somehow wayyy mature.
The series I saw, 'Churails' (idk whether I've recommended it to you or not, but if you haven't, you must watch) was one of the best made on feminism in Indian subcontinent. Like even 'progressive' movies like thappad, lipstick under my burkha, all they seem so ordinary.
I barely made it to end because it was so traumatic, but holy hell it's worth it.
I've watched churails it's really well made its awesome.😊😊
I've watched alot of Pakistani shows well bollywood I don't even consider a industry anymore I barely watch bollywood since 2016 after I finished my tenth grade.
I am someone who watches alot regional movies malyali, marathi , bengali ,goan , Assamese, movies from arunanchal pradesh, gujrathi etc.
I could literally give u more 10 to 15 marathi movies about around 40 to 45 years ago that had much more progressive content then what people today put under that feminism women empowerment banner . They are so well made that it would leave u suprised thinking that u never knew such issues could be handled so sensitively.😊
Marathi is the first Indian entertainment industry which nobody really gives credit to it for and was the first Indian industry that become the Pioneer of content and hard hitting subject based movies . It's known for its simplicity and for the fact that it's a industry that has a special knack of making movies through the eyes of children . They show hard hitting realties of life through small kids and nowhere do they ever look cringe.
Most of marathi actors are extremely cinema literate and very strong theatre background.
It's probably one of the only industries that does not have star system.
All actors work in all mediums they do serials , movies ,theatre , street plays .
