I read that somewhere. It didn't read like fake news. It is possible I may have conflated two timelines. I will post a link when I find it.

EDIT: The link:

urghhh... cannot post hyperlink:

Go to cinejosh Search for amala-shocking-revelations-about-samantha

"Speaking to scribes, Amala said 'Samantha is a very good girl. One cannot find such girls in the current generation. Samantha is a girl of rare type and she filled the void created by the loss of her mother-in-law Annapurna. Just like how Annapurna used to look after her as her daughter, I looked at Samantha as my daughter. "

Amala continued ' Samantha is an independent girl and is always ahead in taking independent decisions and this could have resulted in differences between her and Naga Chaitanya which could have resulted in their divorce. I however wish Samantha a bright future wherever she is"

Beliefs:

1. Neither Chay nor Sam cheated. Sam's stylist knew exactly what he was doing by seeding that rumour. He then had the temerity to insist Chay defend him against the affair rumours involving him. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The comments of "Like father, like son": Chay is first Lakshmi's son and Venky mama's nephew and last, Naga's son. Venky, Chay's mom and Chay's paternal and maternal grandfathers seem to have had a bigger influence on his life and values than his father did.

2. Sam was on a movie blitz so that she could start a family. Abortion rumours and Sam not wanting to have a family are malicious. Amla Akkineni gave a glowing endorsement of Sam post divorce news.

3. Family Man 2 played a big role in the split and it isn't due to Chay being a misogynist. The story that puzzled me the most was the following: the Akkinenis were seriously threatened (loss of business or physical threats - not sure) after Family Man 2 was released.

4. Sam is very bitter and wounded about the divorce because she did not want it. I can see the Akkineni's offering the alimony despite the pre-nup and Sam's earning power and wealth.

5. The attacks on Sam are not coming from the Akkineni's. Naga is protective of his family but is not willfully malicious. Chay values his privacy. Sam does not. The streetfighter in Sam is strong and I would not be surprised to read that she is fanning the flames to garner sympathy.

Chay's wealth: he has generational wealth and film industry heroes earn more than heroines. From the figures quoted, Chai would have been earning at least twice as much as Sam per movie.

Sam gets paid for her instagram posts. I read that she donates that money to her NGO. I 100% believe her insta posts were a problem for the family. Does that make them regressive and controlling? I don't think so. In an interview with Chay, Sam stated that she independently made her career decisions while Chay considers the impact of his decisions on his family.

Sam will make it in Bollywood. She is talented but also overrated. She has the glam look for which she traded her natural beauty. Her thirst and terror of the deprivation she knew as a child will continue to drive her. That is the source of her ambition: fear of poverty.

Chay: I too read that Naga did not want Sam for a daughter-in-law but grew to love her. Chay is headstrong and marches to the beat of his own drum. In an interview during the release of "Love Story" he spoke about life defining changes he went through in the last year and during the shooting of the movie.

Conclusion: he outgrew Sam.

@bold- So true! I have always felt Chay is more close to Daggubatis than Akkinenis. Rana adores Chay. Also during Chaysam wedding Daggubatis were very active.

This is the most difficult part in this divorce. No matter what as a fan you can't take any side here. Both of them are very dear to mine. Everything looked so perfect between them. Sam looked so much in love and Chay seemed a responsible husband. And yes Chay has a very strong personality and he seems a genuine guy.

@bold- outgrew his own wife? 🙄

@bold- yes.. she is doing this exactly. And to be honest it was expected. And Chay will maintain his silence and will never talk about his personal life in public again.

In my opinion it was Chay who brought stability and security in her life. I could see changes in her approach after her marriage with Chay. I was really happy for her, really thought it was the best decision she made in her life. I so wished they would be able to forgive each other. They ended a beautiful relationship just like that.

Rana's No. 1 Yaari is a great source of information.

Re: Chay outgrowing Sam. Two telling recent (in the last year) interviews:

1. Sam with Chinmayi on "No. 1 Yaari" (Edit (my bad): Season 2)

2. Chay with Baradwaj Rangan on Film Companion South - "Love Story" release interview.

Curious to read your impression, D_ancing_fox.

Love and respect both are equally important and in my opinion Sam loved Chay but respect ..umm..I doubt...(her pet comment on Rana's show was something I found weird though she said it in fun.) In my view Sam adored Chay. For her Chay was the guy she met on YMC set. He was an young boy then but now what I see a mature man.

Coming back to the recent interview (I just loved it) during Love story promotion..he genuinely looked very confident, a man with clarity. For the very first time I saw him putting forth his opinion so freely without being shy.

They were no boyfriend-girlfriend, they were married. And married couples are expected to have better understanding.

Sam lives her life like an open book so it is pretty clear what she is going through but in this whole divorce episode I'm not sure about Chay's stance. Sam is very independent (this is no wrong) I never thought she would ever have a family life. That's why I was happy for her because it was Chay (A strong headed personality who have plans for everything).

Also he seems very down to earth in comparison to other star kids (including his brother). To be honest I am curious about Chay. I never thought this guy will have divorce. Had it been anyone else I would haven't reacted this way.

Me too!

ITA: that was a great interview! Sam may be an open book but in trying to figure out why on earth they split, I learnt that Chay had studied music at Trinity college, was a part of a band, played bass guitar and keyboard (two independent sources) - in short, a person comfortable in his own skin, driven to achieve what he valued, marching to the beat of his own drum.

When Shekhar Kamulla was asked why he cast Chay as Revanth, he in summary said the following: he had his team watch Chay's movies (he watched some of them). He cast Chay not because of what he saw in his movies but what he saw in Chay offscreen (open smile and all that it conveyed). Chay himself spoke of the unlearning of doing as an actor (his overacting) and simply being. There is an article on the GreatAndhra site of how Chay prepared for the crucial "kiss" scene on the train in "Love Story" - that has to be one of the most sublime scenes of contemporary cinema (so much of subtext).

Re: "They were no boyfriend-girlfriend, they were married. And married couples are expected to have better understanding."

How does one have complete independence in a marriage? What would be the point? Why not just remain single?

Re: the pet comment. From her account, Chay doted on her, literally waited hand and foot on her, did the household chores etc. - possible exaggeration of the extent on her part (they most definitely have domestic help). Clearly, she was not subjugated by a domineering husband who was trying to bend her to his will. Can there be love without respect?

Re: Sam's cutesy voice on No. 1 Yaari. Isn't she too old for that behaviour? If voice modulation is a skill an actor requires, then Sam must prostrate herself before a benevolent creator for the wonder that is Chinmayi. Did she do her own dubbing in Mahanati?

Just after the divorce annoucement, aHa posted clips from Sam Jam Season 1 (now defunct show) finale with Chay. Did Chay really troll her the entire show?

@bold- So true! I too got to know about this only after their divorce. After going through his interviews I do feel his offscreen personality is more interesting than his flims and for the first time in love story it has reflected on screen.

And yes he seems to be a man who loves his own space and the difference between them was very visible from the day one. I wonder how did their relationship survive so long?

@bold- Unlike others I watched the show back in March-April and at that time they were together. Now after their divorce everything seems very different. But for the first time when I saw that episode I really thought Chay is very comfortable with Sam perhaps for the first time I saw him so comfortable in any interview. No I didn't think Chay troll her but yes somehow I felt Sam was trying to prove that they are just perfect and very compatible while Chay was not comfortable with this. And also Chay made it pretty clear that Sam doesn't really take his suggestions seriously.

How long was the relationship really? A probable timeline:

2009-2010: Chay & Sam meet - shooting of YMC -friends

2010-2011 SidShruti

2012-Jan 2015: SamSid

2013 ChayShruti

2013-2014 Manam with ANR & Nag’s family &Sam and Shriya Saran

2015 Naga confirms “ Chay finding someone special”

2017 Engagement, Marriage

Here’s a thought. Sid’s own cheating notwithstanding, perhaps he was speaking truthfully about the past with his “cheaters” comment.

Sorry for barging in 😂😅.

I do believe Chay cheated on her . I know a guy who has friends in Telugu industry. According to him Chay strays, but he is very secretive about it.

Another Girl on reddit who has an account on Reddit for 2 years confirmed the same ! This girl can't be Sam's PR going by her post history .

He had himself admitted in Sam's show that he has dated multiple girls at the same time . Sam has brought up him chasing girls several times in their past promotions/ interviews , while she did so laughingly, I believe she has always been insecure about it .

Chay's cousins Rana and Abhiram ( Rana's brother ) have had multiple girlfriend's. Rana's brother in particular is a creep . Venky's family isn't clean either 😆.

I like Chay , he seems honest and less pretentious , but I am convinced his philandering ways are the reason for divorce .

I agree ! I never liked him much in movies . He is more charming in his interviews lol .

I have seen that epsiode after their breakup , It could be confirmation bias , but I felt he did troll her . Sometimes he looked annoyed with her even though he was smiling lol .

He was actually more relaxed and playful with Sai Pallavi than he was with Sam😆. I even thought he was in love with her 🤣🤣🤣, but they are probably just friends .

Samantha once mentioned how she felt comfortable and protected around Chay. Sai pallavi said the same in a recent interview 😆😆. There was a junior artist who acted in his movie Tadaka , she mentioned how Chay's cousin Abhiram harassed her when she didn't pay attention to him . She complained to Chay and he apparently warned his cousin !

I like him , but I am almost certain he cheated on Sam.
