It seems like there is a lot we don’t know so I will give the NCB a little benefit of the doubt. We don’t know how reliable/credible the tipster was - maybe very credible, maybe an unreliable criminal trying to save his own skin who gave crap info and made the NCB look terrible. I am sure any real drug dealers would be trying to bribe the NCB for information so maybe they were tipped off about the tip off and that’s why no large amount of drugs were found. Who knows? It may also be that they are trying to force the arrested to tell information that they do in fact know and using bad publicity for SRK as a negotiation ‘tool’ to try to make Aryan (or possibly SRK/Gauri) tell them what they know. It isn’t pleasant and I do not know if it’s right - let me repeat that I don’t know if it’s right (well actually I believe it would be a better use of the money to spend it on drug use prevention and recovery than prosecution except for the biggest of the biggest dealers) but if a society demands that the police stop drug dealing/use then you have to be prepared for them to do what that takes which usually means squeezing and sometimes crushing the lives of lots of little guys to make them talk so you can catch the big guys. That definitely happens in the USA too.

What seems absolutely unfair to me is that the ‘rules’ are not applied uniformly. No way everyone’s son would be treated this way. That also definitely happens in the USA too - maybe (debatable) less often than India. Honestly, I think it happens everywhere.

This might be outdated information on this juggernaut of a thread. But apparently NCB conducted another raid on the cruise ship later, and again recovered stuff.

So do you check to see if they are comfortable with the tag or do you go around brandishing the term regardless? The problem is most people on this forum do the latter. Maybe just avoid name calling full stop?
