Yes its a big deal, a very big deal even now in this day and age.
Our desi culture never had the concept of having a woman’s name printed on door plates, invitation cards or anywhere important. It’s just something we considered a norm and never bothered questioning the age old regressive belief in the name of culture.
Like Anupama rightly said our women never got that stature to be addressed with their own name, they are always referred to as someone’s mum, daughter in law or wife, sad but true.
Only in the last decade have we seen women wanting to make a name of their own and more name plates these days have two names printed but still around 70% of them have the man’s name printed first It’s just thought provoking how we’ve normalised the concept.
For Anupama to see her her name printed on the card was a big deal and for it to be printed before Anuj’s was an even bigger one. The flashback was gut churning, her silent tears were a testament of her achievement as an individual, as a woman who stands equal to a man...her jumping with joy, her uncontrollable excitement all showed how big a deal this was for her.
Thank you Anuj, my love 🤣
... that song was so darn cheesy, I burst out laughing until there was this sudden gush of air that blew his hair ever so slightly and I was a goner! romance is Anuj/Gaurav’s forte and me being a sucker for it was totally blown away with their adorable kitchen chronicles... the dream was super cute and by now I was humming the song I didn’t know before❤️😳 and when he said aah masale! I was like 👏 to the writers for making their point but thenI was like halwa bana rahe hai ya achaar, what masale is he talking about yaar?🤣
All in all I wasn’t as disappointed as I thought I’d be with the ME. It wasn’t that bad and I’d rather not talk of the negatives here, there shall be another post for that later.
p.s: Anuj in casuals was 😍😍😍
