I feel the govt is being hyprocritic in their protest against cheerleaders. If wearing skinpy clothes is against our culture was their arguement, dont u think they are being hypocritic coz almost 90% movies in Bollywood show skin and wear dresses which leaves nothing to our imagination.

so why didnt they raise a protest against the movies from being banned, we have love making scenes, kissing scenes, heroes and heroines dressed scantily, yet the politicians have nothing against it.

Now they are creating such a big hue and cry abt the cheerleaders. In America, cheerleading is there in most games and no one sees it as something vulgar and cheap.

I personally believe its the way u look at it. Why we hand on to culture all the time when matters like this are brought up. If following culture was the motto, we should all have been following sarees and dhotis coz that was our attire as per our culture.

I mean we can adopt the western culture if it benefits you but then when it doesnt , it becomes " aping the west".

whats your take on this?

I absolutely agree with you, whenever we have to put up an arguement against something, we all always lean on to our "culture" and "religion", whereas in reality, they are only excuses.

they should ban cheerleaders- unless they can find some really cute ones to jump up and down like bunny rabbits. need those to take our mind off the bad cricket. 😛 😉 😆

I feel dat if they want cheerleaders or rather the youth to wear such clothes, or behave such a manner which is against our culture, first they should stop the influence of the media and bollywood and dey pass action against cheerleading or dese sort of sport.

I am all for cheerleaders in sarees if the players are in dhotis. 😛 Btw isn't cheerleaders for sports game a western concept? 😉

^^ Lighty - I would love to see players in dhotis 😆

From all the controversies that crop up every minute, it seems like everyone in the world is obsessed with women's clothes or the lack of them - wear too many and you are oppressed; wear too few and you are abused!

😆 😆 😆 Dhoni in dhoti would look awesome...and then we'll have gals waiting with bated breath to catch the dhoti falling down in the middle of running between the wkt or fielding 😆 Guys will be doing same watching the cheerleaders in sarees 😛 😆

Jokes apart, I feel cheerleaders doing their stint after every four is a bit too much. It should look okay within limits or may be in moderation. Problem is not so much with the cheerleading. It's more with overdoing the cheerleading...I guess. We Indians do everything in excess...whether it's adapting a concept or starting something new. Mileyngey toh dil khol ker aur ladeyngey toh ser phod ker 😆 😆

I said MMM it is warm in here, must be the Indians in the atmosphere.

Give Me an I, Give Me a P, Give Me an L whats that spell IPL!!!!Wheeeeeee!

Culturally sports is played for honor, discipline and victory. A sportsman plays for his school, his team his country. Franchise sports, playing for the one who paid you most, stripping of loyalties for a game of economics is not part of the cricketing culture we grew up with.

If the media, citizens, politicians and players embraced Franchise sports they should have foreseen the consequences. Cricket has been changed to a league like NBA, NHL, NFL etc. More about money and entertainment value rather than a sport.

India brace yourselves for over the top halftime histrionics, wardrobe malfunctions, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson wannabes. No point in whining about culture and tradition after you sold your soul already.

On the other hand the entire controversey is so rude and disrespectful to cheerleaders. Cheerleading is a challenging and athletic sport. Cheerleaders are sports people who work out, practice hard to some pretty difficult movements and actions. Part of the tight fitted skimpy outfits is for the aerodynamics of the movements they do. You cannot do flips, twists and throws clothed in flowy skirts and full sleeves. Of course there is titillation and some sexuality involved, but these are not strippers but people performing a form of athleticism they enjoy.

So what is the verdict. I already sold my soul to cricket so Bring It On!and Once Again! What else can I say, Hey Mickey!

Although what about men in tight spandex who can take their shirts of?

What's the problem with the Cheer leaders? IPL is a cricket and that is not some satsang and no fool expects some people to deck themselves like Meera bai, Jodha bai or Akbar...

IPL is just for fun and if these cheerleaders are adding some glamour..why the hell should the politicians and so called "Indian Sanskruti protectors" should have????

Hmm! IPL is not an entrance examination like IIT and the cheerleaders are not the invigilators ...so why will the aam spectator janta have problem?..😛

Really felt sad when fully dressed cheerleaders said cheeeeeeeeeeers to the deccan chargers....in the previous match😉😆

Say cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers,

Myth
