I am not differing with your opinion much , I believe Pallavi has accepted behavioural flaws of his (which irritated her a lot before marriage), but not major ones such as the nature of his business. Raghav has shown himself whiter than he is, allowing her to live in a bubble and entertaining her comments and beliefs. He even promised her that he'd pay CD and she believed him right away, because that's how she is, easily and overly trusting people she loves, she did it with the Deshmukhs, and now it's Raghav. I believe it is due to Raghav’s habit to please and lie in order to keep people close to him, and Pallavi’s nature to to place the tremendous amount of faith in the people she loves. Yes, indeed! Her bubble is about to shatter,they’ll have to face and talk about what they've both evaded up to this point.
@bold - her dialogues were off no doubt i personally took it as things she said in fit of anger realising that he lied to her and doesn’t necessarily mean that his generosity is facade to hide illegal business.
@bold 2-
He didn't say it out loud, but he has allowed her to live in a bubble in which he has changed after their marriage. The audience has known and seen Raghav's soft side before marriage, but it only came out in front of Pallavi as a form of redemption, so she believes he changed after that. As for business, he promised he'd stop, so in my opinion it wasn't wrong for Pallavi, as a character the way she is, to believe he's changed for the better, that he's changed major complaints she had about him, becoming perfect partner . I personally think, this is where Ramaswamy’s identity needs to get revealed so that Pallavi has deeper insight into how Raghav was prior to his redemption.
My whole point in my original post was that Pallavi (as of now) doesn’t wish to change Raghav’s personality as whole.
His generosity and eagerness to please was always there, we saw it in his dealings with Amma and Keerti even before his marriage. It's nothing new or faked. I think Pallavi chooses to ignore the harsh realities of life and ignore what she knows deep down. She slapped Raghav when he told her about the Ds, not because she thought he was lying but because she knew he was telling the truth and raising questions which deep down she knew were justified.
He asked for a chance to make things right for her and he wanted to send her away to free her of the marriage. He let her dictate many things in the relationship and was good to her as a husband but he never promised he was perfect. I knew in the scene he gave her the ring where she said he had reformed that it sounded wrong and that she was going to get a wake up call.
She is not a stupid woman who doesn't see what's going on around her. She wanted to believe in this fairy tale, she refused to listen to her inner voice which knew on some level that he was like that. That's why Sunny didn't have to work too hard to raise her suspicions. He touched a nerve because she knew deep down that Raghav was indeed capable of this. Also, she recently caught him lying to her about the stolen necklace and commissioner topic.
I am not blaming her. This is the kind of person she is. She wants to be involved in everything, whereas Raghav is different and draws a line between personal and professional life. As a husband, he's treated her well but hasn't wanted her to be involved in his professional matters. She wants the opposite so they're bound to clash.
Lastly, there's no such thing as a perfect partner and she has to learn this. I don't see her questioning her own actions in this regard or wondering what his expectations may be of his wife. I'm not bashing Pallavi, just showing the other side of the coin. She believes that if he's doing illegal things like smuggling, then he must be a rotten apple or bad in all other aspects and if he quits then he becomes a good man. This is why Amma's dialogue was so so important today. It's the core message that CVs want to give and I'm sure we'll see more of it.
Loved hearing your perspective, even if it's a bit different from mine. Thanks for sharing. 😃
