She was that typical mother who advised her daughter to tolerate everything silently & always bend to make amends. Irrespective of whether her efforts are appreciated or not. Irrespective of whether she was valued & respected or not. She had this obsession with Dev & always pushed Sonakshi to be with him, regardless of whether it was good for her or not. She was never offended on behalf of her daughter & nor was she supportive of her. Post leap she actively joined Dev-Ishwari camp & literally bullied her daughter to forgive Dev & go back to him saying she was being unnecessarily sulky & stubborn.🙄

I feel, Bijoy is much better a parent than Asha was. But the fandom made a villain out of him & compared him to Ishwari because he was not swooning over the male lead & believed his daughter deserved better.

bold - completely agree. Bijoy is the only one who always stood for sonakshi. He had her well-being in every situation and the only one who could see through the ma-beta BS without any tinted glasses. The amount of bashing his character got was another level, just because he didn’t fall for the charm of dev dixit or couldn’t see sonakshi’s cravings for dev. Even sonakshi disappointed me with her outbursts at him in that regard, unfortunately she had already been totally a gone case by then.

The whole Sonakshi's infertility issue itself was a random plot added out of the blue to give Dev some quick fix redemption & assure the viewers that he truly loved Sonakshi because post Ishwari+pills incident, his behaviour had truly shaken up that notion.

After he threw Sonakshi out of his life saying she was not important enough, he never really bothered to introspect & realise what he did wrong. Let alone redeem himself. And he readily forgot everything he did once his mother gave him the "permission" to marry Sonakshi. He didn't even properly apologise to Sonakshi for the way he treated her. He was like.... Maa maan gayi so everything is fine!

That raised some serious questions regarding the sincerity of his "love" towards Sonakshi. Does he really love her? Or does he just say so? Sonakshi being infertile & YET Dev marrying her was makers' answer to that question. See he is marrying her in spite of knowing that she cannot give him a child. He is sacrificing so much to be with her! Of course he truly loves her! That's why that infertility track was pushed in out of the blue. Otherwise it didn't have any connection to the original plot & you can totally see it was not even developed properly. One episode Sonakshi randomly gets a stomachache & next episode she is infertile! All that was orchestred to make Dev look like the ideal husband material who loves & wants only her & doesn't care about anything else.👏

The irony is that they handled the resurfacing of the issue part so poorly that what was supposed to be Dev's ticket to redemption actually ended up making him look like an even bigger jerk! 😆After the revelation of Sonakshi's infertility issue, the way Ishwari & Dev, understand the influence of Ishwari, acted it was pretty much obvious that Sonakshi was actually better off not marrying him in the first place. And, if she was informed about her condition in due time, knowing how Ishwari is (& yes, also out of feeling guilty of not being good enough for Dev) she probably would have chosen not to marry him. Bijoy at least would have tried to stop this suicidal marriage & save her from the accompanying doom. But Dev decided to hide it, not only from her but from her family too. And in my opinion by doing that he actually robbed her of a chance to make a choice she was entitled to. Only to rub it on her face & mock her for it later! What a jerk (Dev)!😵 And what a mess (the writing)!🤪

Actually this show was originally supposed to be finite & for 6 months max. They did not intend to even show Dev & Sonakshi's marriage in the first place. But the show & pairing became so popular that Sony extended it. So the whole infertility track & post marriage conflicts were clearly an after thought to extend the show. You can tell from the writing because it was perfect until 150 plus episodes. And again, the leap was an after thought. I think Shaheer or Erica also mentioned that show was supposed to end but it got another extension and in a bid to increase the TRP, they brought a separation & leap (typical Indian TV formula). Add to this, SP was extremely unhappy with her character too which is why a lot of this looks incoherent. Despite all this, I will still say they did a reasonably good job (esp when you compare it to other shows which are infinite times worse). Season 3 though is an absolute mess. Season 1 actually looks like a masterpiece in comparison because nothing they have shown in this season makes sense.

Me too. After the slap kand pre-leap & the elaborately humiliating way post leap Dev treated Bijoy, Sonakshi as his daughter should have been offended. At the end when she decided to patch up with Dev just like that, without any apology from him, she just looked like an ungrateful daughter. As a daughter myself, I can never even imagine being with a guy who relished humiliating my father. Even after patch up she didn't demand that Dev should apologise to Bijoy or be respectful to him. In fact, even after their patch up, Dev kept calling him Mogambo, Mr. Bose & she didn't even object😳

At the end ultimately I felt bad for Bijoy the most.

Full stop. And let's add a new kid as their son! 😆 I mean.... what even! Why did they need to change everything season 1 established to start this season? And it's not like they could do something great with that track. Showed some nonsense that didn't make sense & then suddenly wrapped it up within 2 episodes.

I hate to say this, but this Serendipity track is at least not as ridiculous as that. Don't get me wrong! Everything they are showing now is stupid too, but this is still somewhat digestible. If they made Sanju Dev's new PA instead of a random employee & worked a little to establish her psycho side, this track would have made a lot of sense.

Ayush track was truly hopeless on all aspects.

Bold 1: This. I have been asking who the hell came up with this idea and who approved this? Of all stories they could come up with, this was literally the stupidest ever. And I, for one, would never consider this kid as Devakshi's kid. Suhana will always be their daughter!

Bold 2: LOL, this is my unpopular opinion. The Sanjana track is silly and doesn't make a lot of sense, but it is still better than Ayush track, which was basically just stupid! A girl crushing obsessively over her handsome boss is more believable than baby being swapped 7 years ago, and no one knowing about it! Sure, they are showing some illogical things like Sanjana coming and sharing lunch with him and planning an entire party in a few hours, but it's still better than bribing ONE nurse and taking the baby out of the Operation Theater and no one knows about it, then the hospital says it happened seven years later and Dev Dixit doesn't sue every single person involved?! How anyone with a working brain cell came up with this, I will never know!

The leap & everything post leap definitely looked like random plots put together to generate trp for sure. They had totally destroyed Dev's character & then Soha bringing her parents closer looked like a plot lifted from a random Ekta Kapoor drama.

But if Devakshi marriage itself was an afterthought what was the original plot? Separation after dating? How would have they ended it?😕

Yes, I can see that. The first 150 episodes look perfect..it's obvious to the audience it was stretched later. The characters and their responses didn't make as much sense as before. The show could have wrapped up with Sonakshi helping with Khatri problem while they were broken up, Ishwari accepting her and they getting married. Done. No need for any of the other drama.

The show was only supposed to be for six months or so. I think they intended to show how Dev & Ishwari's lives change after Sonakshi enters their life, how Ishwari's insecurity causes them to break up & then probably an eventual reunion. They didn't really intend to show an entire post marriage track with infertility & what not. All of that was added later on because the show became really popular

My opinion too 😆 Sanju track needed a bit of better writing & would have made sense.

But even Shakespeare couldn't have saved the Ayush track because the concept itself was so impossibly ridiculous!

I still don't see Ayush as Devakshi's kid. I altered the initial few episodes in my head & now I pretend that Suhana & Shubh are Devakshi's kids and they have adopted Ayush.😆

In fact, the initial promos actually indicated a mutual separation where both were in good terms even after that (what they eventually showed was far from that). I will try finding that article but yeah, the entire post marriage track & all the conflicts they showed later were added later on because Dev & Sonakshi became really popular & the show had decent TRP for a Sony show. Even Durjoy Dutta spoke primarily about the first 150 odd episodes in his interview

That would have made sense & would have aligned with the original promos they aired. In the promos they showed they were on a mutually understanding break up & were still discussing the issue.

In the show though, it was a totally different scenario with Dev taking that decision all by himself & dumping Sonakshi and then going on with his "Deewangi" to ruin her some more. 🤔
