Folks like Baa are custodians of patriarchy. The boy is the Apple of their eye and anything highlighting their greatness is good and undermining that is to be censured. It is not merely with Vanraj even with the grandchildren she responds that way.

Yessss! Also, Baa and Vanraj thrive on control over those they deem inferior to them. If Anupamaa leaves or finds someone who helps her realize her self-worth, it immediately threatens their authority over her. Who will they put down then to feel powerful and superior?

No matter how good is daughter in law, she can never take place of a son. Baa priorities are crystal clear. 😆

Her problem is the same that many many people in india still have.

She thinks that her son is entitled to everything because he is a man. Uske liye toh 100 khoon maaf. He can cheat, have affairs, be a terrible father, and just about a low-life person in general with no morals but an ego bigger than jeff bezos himself.

While anupama cannot even blink her eyes and take a breath without asking for her permission. I wont be very surprised if tomorrow she throws a tantrum about why anupama didnt ask for her approval before breathing.

I think i read a beautiful quote somewhere "the only people who get upset when you set boundaries are the ones who benefitted from you having none. That's why they perceive it as a personal attack because your boundary encroaches on space they are used to having, that is, yours". This is precisely the case with the toxic shahs. Baa vanraj toshu pakhi all are soo used to having anupama's space and have a say in even her private matters and be able to control every single action of hers that now they cannot leave their idea of absolute dictatorial control over her.

Things will progressively get worse the more anupama stands up for herself. Character assassinations, questions on her integrity, societal pressure, below the belt comments about her age and worth. Nothing and no stone willbe left unturned to mellow her back into the soft spine, brainless slave that she was shown to be.

The only thing i wish and hope they show is anupama finally understanding what a toxic and mindless environment the shahs have created in there and gives it back to everyone firmly without taking any cr*p from them

I want it too. But if Anupamaa gees to know about this which i am sure Baa and vanraj will not leave a chance to tell her. She will start her lecture to Anuj only how baa is so nice. Baa baapuji are her life. And blah blah…

Ba is a dumb, arrogant, selfish woman. All she cares about is her son. She rules over Bapuji and the household but never gave any independence to Anupama when she was her bahu. Now the woman has absolutely no right over her ex-bahu or how Anupama behaves or who she befriends.

I hope Anupama agrees to the offer of partnership with Anuj, and I hope Anuj doesn’t try to move away from Anupama because he is afraid of tipping the precarious balance in the Shah parivar.

Will be sorely disappointed if Anupama does not soundly shut up that Vanraj and that Toshu, and if she doesn’t happily accept the business opportunity and make the most of it.
