When will the TRP system change?

TRP system has destroyed many awesome shows. Even though the fandom of the show is very active as seen on the online platforms but they are not able to earn desirable TRPs.

Moreover this system covers only 40000 television sets which is highly problematic.

Also there was a case some years back where the show makers were going to the houses of these people and paid them cash to watch their shows.

Recently(6-7 months ago) there was another TRP scam of the news channels where the viewers with TRP meters were told to keep their tv sets on all the time even when they weren't at home and turn on certain channels.

There are rumours that the current CEO of BARC, Sunil Lulla will quit. Let's hope for the best.

IMO, the online popularity of a show and it's TV popularity with people who are not active online are two different things.

Last time I checked BARC had stopped listing most popular shows making the system even more opaque and hence susceptible to rigging😈. To counter this there should be more than one rating system and also an increase in the household TRP meters👍🏼
