Agree with this!
I loved preleap Dev with all his flaws, I loved post leap Dev who finally figured things out and started balancing his life.
I don't know about this Dev. Blatantly disregarding Sona's feelings just to keep his mother happy, manipulating a child instead of standing up for him. This Dev is really hard to like.
Dev/Shaheer's fans are all over social media talking about Sona doesn't understand, Poor Dev is trying to understand and balance everyone, but he himself is so alone.. but it's quite ridiculous. There are situations where he should balance, like the first episode, poha vs Paratha at the dining table.
This is not a situation to sit on the fence and balance. He himself knows very well his mother was wrong. If he can't support her here also, then really what's the point of having a partner?
Exactly!! And the worst part is that it is mainly women who are insensitive to another women's situation or pain & suffering just because the male lead is handsome or is their favourite. If an average looking actor with similar or even better acting skills portrays the role of Dev, he will most probably be treated like a villain by the very same people!! Many would have insisted on staying separately in a nuclear family setup if they were in Sonakshi's place or they would have separated from their husband by now if their husband was as non supportive a partner as Dev is.
And I don't understand why Sonakshi is being blamed for everything including marrying him, after knowing the kind of relationship he shares with his mother. How is Sonakshi to know that he will never support her or that he will watch mutely when his mother insults & humiliates his wife for no real valid reason. Most guys are mumma's boy before marriage to a certain extent but with time & experience & with new responsibiities of their wife & children, they learn to balance their relationship with both. But Dev doesn't have the guts to even take a stand for himself, forget about taking stand for his wife or kids. The relationship between Dev & Ishwari is so warped & twisted, with Dev visibly looking suffocated & feeling trapped in the toxic relationship inspite of the love & respect he has for his mother. He is aware that he is in the wrong whenever he supports his mother blindly even when Sona is right & his maa is wrong & lashes out at Sona out of frustration, guilt & anger at his own helplessness in being unable to take her side against his mother's.
