Chapter 6
intriguing update.... eloquently written
as expected Geet is lost as she tries to find her way back to her room
at least she is not outside during the storm
can understand Geet's state of mind
will we see a confident Geet?
well Maan seems dangerous....
Geet assuming Maan is a gangster is reasonable considering all that transpired
from Maan's words it looks like he is either a gangster or mafia
Gosh they are even under the commissioner's radar
how long will Maan keep Geet there?
he indeed does not trust her.....
of cos Maan orders a background check on Geet
update soon
appreciate the feedback to comments
Geet get lost his mansion and went to wrong wing of mansion where she heard about maan saying they being on commissioner's radar and they will check about her back round
Geet some how after hour found her room and without thinking she slept
Part 6
Funny how maan asked geet to return back to her room....... did he forget how large his house is ????
Geet is not only lost in the house but she seems lost in life ........ an orphan ..... homeless ......... vulnerable......... & now stuck in a fix where she is a witness to a crime .
She sounds physically & emotionally tired
It would be good if maan does a background check b/c them he will realize geet is just an innocent girl who was in the wrong place at the wrong time
At least for the time being she has found her room & has a warm dry bed to recuperate.
Thank you for the update ..... curious to what will happen next
Chapter 6
See I told you she's gonna get lost in that house anyway 🤣. That house had to be enormous for someone to be lost like that.... geez and she's lucky to escape the sight of both men if not I really don't want to imagine what would Maan do with her eavesdropping in the hallways... But actually it's not her fault too... He's house is such a nightmare... I really think Maan should run a background check on Geet she's not bad. Her only mistake was to hide in that particular alley.... Of all the alleys she had to chose that Maan was in dealing his business.... I love that you're not rushing the storyline and giving it a nice steady pace. At last she made it to the room she's staying now 🤣🤣🤣. She should stay there for the time being and figure out what to do, where to go then she can get away from him.... But the question is Maan gonna let go of her... Let's wait and see what happens...🤗

Hey guys! Chapter 7 is below. As always, thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. :)
Chapter 7
“You must be absolutely starving!” Pinky cried. “You didn’t even eat the soup I brought you last night.”
It was the next morning. Geet had risen early, disoriented. Her body had felt stiff and achy, and she was pleased -- as pleased as she could be under the circumstances -- to see that her bedroom had its own bathroom. She had taken a long, hot shower, changed into her worn but clean clothes, and answered quickly when Pinky knocked at her door. “Breakfast?” Pinky had asked cheerily.
The two were now seated outside on the terrace. Between them was a stack of toast, a basket of breakfast pastries, and a fruit medley of strawberries, grapes, and watermelon. In the daylight, Geet could better see the dimensions of Maan’s house, which was practically the size of a castle. No wonder she had been so thoroughly lost the night before. The house overlooked a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and a large gazebo.
“I didn’t have much of an appetite last night,” Geet admitted, buttering a slice of bread.
“Understandable,” Pinky said sympathetically. “How did things go with Maan Sir?” she asked lowly before reaching for a pastry.
Geet took her time chewing to stall for time. Although Pinky seemed like a kind person, Geet couldn’t yet trust her completely. They had just met, and Pinky seemed almost too eager to be helpful. Pinky, like her husband, Adi, effectively worked for Maan. In fact, it was almost certain that Maan had directed Pinky to keep an eye on Geet.
“It went as well as could be expected, I suppose,” Geet said carefully.
Pinky shook her head. “I know Maan Sir can be super scary. He has been good to Adi, though, and the rest of his men. Maan Sir and Adi are childhood friends.”
“He wants to run a background check on me,” Geet said abruptly, remembering the overheard conversation from last night. “Why would he want to do that?”
Pinky took a sip of orange juice. “You were in the alley last night and are a witness. Maan Sir likes to keep tabs on everyone and everything.”
“I still don’t really understand what all is going on here,” Geet said, trying to keep both fear and frustration out of her voice. “What can you tell me?”
Looking around as if to make sure no one could eavesdrop, Pinky leaned in closer. “Do you promise to keep this between us?”
Could Pinky really be this naive? Still, Geet nodded.
“Have you heard of Khurana Shipping?"
“Of course.” The name was ubiquitous with both commercial shipping and luxury passenger vessels. Even Geet, who could only dream of sailing on a fancy ship, knew that it was the biggest business in the region. No wonder Maan could afford to live in such a humongous mansion.
“Maan Sir runs the company. And Adi is the vice president.”
Geet raised an eyebrow. This description of business dealings certainly didn’t match the body sprawled on the ground last night.
“Except that the company also sometimes engages in other . . . activities.” Pinky shifted in her chair uncomfortably.
Clearly, a crime syndicate of some sort. Geet had read plenty of novels featuring gangsters. Which didn't exactly make her an expert, but still.
“Adi is usually never there when those other, um, activities are taking place,” Pinky continued. “He’s just supposed to keep track of the books. He was only in the alley last night because Maan Sir had asked him to be there.”
“Why?”
Pinky shrugged. “I’m not sure myself. Adi tries to protect me from Khurana Shipping's ‘other side’ as much as possible and doesn’t tell me much. Plus, he caught a cold in the storm last night. I’m going back home after breakfast to tend to him.”
Absentmindedly pulling a thread at the elbow of her shirt, Geet let her eyes wander down to the enormous circular driveway. A luxury sedan had pulled up to the side of the house, and out stepped the same woman who had been sitting on Maan’s desk last night.
Pinky followed Geet’s line of vision. “That’s Sameera. She’s been over a lot lately. Word is that she and Maan Sir will be engaged soon.”
“Really?” Someone with Maan’s temperament did *not* seem suited for love.
Down in the driveway, Maan had come outside to greet Sameera with a brief hug before leading her inside. Sameera reached for his hand, but Maan either didn’t see it or pretended not to, sticking his palm in the pocket of his dark slacks.
“Yes.” Pinky chewed another pastry. “Sameera’s father is the head of another shipping company, Sameera Sails. What a name, right? Anyway, his company and Khurana Shipping used to be rival, um, organizations, but things have gotten slightly better between them in recent years. Once Maan Sir and Sameera get married, there shouldn’t be any more violence between the two, er, associations.”
So, Maan and Sameera’s father led separate gangs under the front of shipping companies. Geet took another small bite of toast as her mind spun. Pinky had all but confirmed that Maan was an organized crime leader. Who knew what kind of bloodshed would take place in his house when Geet just happened to be there? If she couldn’t find a new shelter, it might even be safer on the street.
She had to get out of here.

scare geet's doubt clear after listening maan's talk with other man accidentally when she lost in mansion
poor geet lost her ability to think with her tired body n mind.
hope she will be fine after maan find out that she is innocent
Is Pinky really silly giving out details of Maan and his crime activities or she's is saying these things to know how much Geet knows. Maan and Sameera to get engaged.
chapter 5
Geet went from one prison to another. She never had freedom.
