Pinky is so naive to be telling everything she knows to Geet.. atleast now Geet has an idea on what has been going on. This is getting very interesting. She wants to get out soon, but how? Waiting for next

Look like pinky trust everyone easily as she giving secret info to geet about maan activities geet thought to get out from this mess asap but for now she should enjoy this comfort given by maan
Sameera father is also own shipping business as maan so this alliance is for business benefits bz geet saw how maan received sameera
Adi maan's childhood friend and now employee too and handle his legal work
7
hope pinky's talk is not plan of maan to scare geet
getting the information from pinky about maan's activities geet is preying that she able to run from this place n will happy n safe on street
Chapter 7
I’m liking this amiable Pinky
But is she really thus gullible dishing out all the info on maan’s illegitimate side business??
Or is she toying with geet ??? ....., I like to believe the former
So maan is a gangster & his so called Fiancée is the rival gang’s daughter
And their alliance would end their turf wars
But I believe something might interrupt their impending engagement....... something sweet, innocent , with large beautiful doe eyes 😉
Thank you for fantastic update 👍🏼
What is pinky really doing. Is she trying to see if geet is an informant for someone or is she that naive hmm. Geet too wondering the same
but for now
She is okay. But after hearing a little bit she is ready to be on the greets than here
can see maan particularly does not love sameera. Just tolerating her

Hi all! Chapter 8 is live below! Thank you so much for reading. :)
Chapter 8
Geet had been only five years old when her parents had perished in a car accident. She remembered some things about them, like the scent of her mother’s juniper berry perfume and how her father loved to read to her at night. They had gone through dozens of picture books before bedtime. After the accident, Geet and her seven-year-old brother, Rocky, had been sent to their nearest living relative, an elderly uncle who suffered from dementia and was thus an inadequate caretaker.
The uncle eventually had to give up custody of both Geet and her brother, and the two were sent to foster homes separated by hundreds of miles. Geet, then nine, naturally missed her parents and brother terribly. Because the siblings were so young, they didn’t have the ability to keep in touch. One day Geet’s foster mother had taken Geet aside and said she had received word of dreadful news: Rocky had been bitten by a rabid animal while walking in the woods and hadn’t survived the infection. Geet hadn’t even been able to attend the funeral since her foster parents had been unable to afford the travel costs -- or, Geet suspected, they had simply been uninterested in taking the trip.
Not a day went by when Geet’s heart didn’t ache from missing her family.
By the time Geet was seventeen, she had been shuffled through so many foster homes that she had lost count. Some of the families had been decent; others she wanted to forget entirely. Out of self-preservation, she hadn’t grown attached to any of the families. Even at school, she mainly kept to herself. At eighteen, Geet had finished high school but had aged out of the foster system and had been forced to move into a shelter. The few part-time jobs she held weren’t enough to cover rent, and Geet had to keep shifting to new shelters as space grew too tight and she was squeezed out.
As the years passed, Geet hoped that she could one day attend college, even though she would be older than the other students. At her last shelter, she had even begun looking into college applications -- until the headmistress had kicked her out, of course.
If only the headmistress had let her explain . . . . Geet squirmed as she remembered that man’s hand on her shoulder. She closed her eyes as if to shut out the memory in her mind.
And now Geet was here, forced to live in Maan’s den of sin. After Pinky went home to tend to Adi after breakfast, Geet retreated to her room. She stared up at the ceiling as she remembered her past and the circumstances leading to this place. Why didn’t anything ever go right? Why was she constantly losing at the game of life? Geet didn’t realize she was crying until she felt tears streaming down over her ears.
“Be strong, Geet,” she muttered to herself. She glanced at the window in her room and wondered if she could squeeze out of it. It was small, but maybe if she contorted herself into just the right position --
The door to her bedroom flew open. Geet sat up with a start to see Maan standing in the threshold of the doorway.
“I need you to come with me,” Maan said without greeting. He furrowed his brow and looked away when he saw Geet swipe at her damp face.
“I ask that you knock next time,” Geet said, then gulped. Was she really giving orders to a crime boss?
Maan turned his face back to her and cocked an eyebrow. “I’m not going to knock on the door to a room in my own house.”
“Where are we going?” Geet asked, standing up warily from the bed.
“My nephew, Neil, is coming over and I need you to watch him. He’s seven. Usually Pinky babysits Neil but Adi has a cold and apparently needs a woman during this time of need.” Maan shook his head as if in disgust.
Staring blankly at him, Geet said, “You don’t trust me to leave the house, but you trust me to watch your own relative?” She wondered briefly where Sameera had gone, and why *she* couldn’t watch Maan’s nephew.
Maan crossed his arms. “I’m good at reading people, Miss Handa. I know you’ll do a fine job watching Neil and won’t reveal anything to him about last night. That would terrify him, and you know it.” He glanced at his watch impatiently. “I have work to do. Come on."

Thanks for taking the time to check out this chapter!
So much hardship Geet has to go thru what would be her age now. Is her brother really dead. Interesting Maan giving her the responsibility of his seven year old nephew while Geet thought why could Sameera not take care.
Thank you for the update and response to comments
Chapter 8
Emotional update..... superbly written
feeling for Geet..... she has suffered so much
sad that she lost her parents and then her brother
hope that her desire to study will be fulfilled soon
hate what happened to Geet
that slimy disgusting man 😡
liked how she motivates herself to be strong
of cos Maan should knock
glad she told him this
well Maan wants Geet to look after his nephew
so where is Maan's family?
Geet's question was reasonable and her thoughts justified
not surprised with Maan's response
update soon
If maan was so good at reading people he should know she was not lying about that night and she was telling the truth. But maybe jus maybe he was betrayed enough to not trust her words. Hmmm
Glad geet asked him Though and is ready to fight for herself
poor girl what allShe has gone through at such a young age.
Am Sure maan will be the ultimate caretaker once he gets to know all this. But will it ever come to that hmm
