Which film critics do you trust?

Do you trust the likes of Sucharita Tyagi and Anupama Chopra? Or critics such as KRK?

Sucharita takes everything way too personally, over pronounces words and over expresses in her reviews ….I find them less abt the film itself and more abt the ideology a film promotes…

Is it necessary to dance in the review when it is a female director? I understand it’s a rarity but why colour a review based on the gender of the director 🤷🏼‍♀️….

bharadwaj rangan and Anupama chopra are the best IMO….they are mature , balanced and nuanced in their approach and look at a film holistically rather than fixating on 1 thing and harping abt that throughout ….bharadwaj is a shade better than Anupama I would say ….but both are good

I like Bhardwaj Rangan and T&RP.

Anupama Chopra can sometimes be problematic when she's kowtowing to some Bollywood biggie. But when she's truly speaking as a reviewer, she's pretty good.

Sucharita is a bit much for me as she allows her biases to taint her opinions too many times.

I like OSR and Jimmy Cage, too. They go into technicalities of filmmaking which I've rarely heard from Indian reviewers. There used to be another guy - Cory something - but he kind of disappeared.

I trust all of the ones that show their face on Youtube except Komal Nahta. I don't have a reason to not trust them. Critics are just regular people with their "informed" opinion but at the end of the day it is an opinion. I don't feel the need to criticize them for it. They are all so different and I know where their weaknesses are or where their biases come in. I know Sucharita's knowledge on movies is limited, so is Anupama's to be honest but they both acknowledge that and they try to be better. I know Sucharita gets very passionate and vocal about patriarchy. Anupama seems to be nicer to certain actors, she is not tough enough for me. Rahul Desai doesn't do videos really but his depressing looking, negative self would probably be my favorite. I like Baradwaj Rangan but he mainly does south.

I like the Youtube ones like Jammy and Shan. Shan seems to have really, really limited knowledge and I disagree with him almost all the time but he is hilarious and he picks up on many things to make fun of. Jammy is a breath of fresh air and I wish there were 5 more Jammys on YouTube because he is the only one who can do a proper analysis and talk about the art of filmmaking.

My favourite reviewer of all time, if you can call him that, is Sahil Rizwan who does this hilarious comic strip called The Vigil Idiot, where he basically shreds films to pieces.

Sucharita is a big time hypocrite. She abused me When I called her out during PC's karwachauth posts.

There is a lady who runs a channel filmy tadka something...she has this annoying way of speaking and basically irritating to me but her vids are always on trend.

Used to like Baradwaj Rangan, but ever since his Arjun Reddy review, I found his views problematic so I stopped following his reviews.

Worst one has got to be Raja Sen.

No one. I am one of those who likes to watch a movie without reading any reviews and form my own opinion. But if I decided to not watch a movie but it ends up getting a good WOM, I go by the reviews of my friends/family.
