Everything Ahaan does will pale in front of that six month period. Which is perhaps why our banda is breaking every comfort zone- he knows nothing can match the sacrifice she did.

But I do agree- Ishqi can probably live without Ahaan, but not the reverse.

I think she arranged that only to get away from her disappearance.

I think those 6 months were not just for Ahaan but more for Sonu. Ishqi is like that who thinks about others before herself. She feels the pain of women victims like Sonu, Savitri and now Rhea as well. She sacreifices for others. She saved Ahaan and put her life in danger but at the same time she was ready to jump from building with Sonu and die with dadi in their sucide attempt. So it was not specific to Ahaan.

On other hand Ahaan changed only for Ishqi. There is character growth in him. The writers did not show that growth in Ishqi. As a woman/individual Ishqi is very good and much better than Ahaan. But as a lover/wife she lacks few things and did not change much for the sake of partner. But again that also goes with her character as she did not expect Ahaan to change much either. She told Kartik/Sonu that she likes Ahaan the way he is.

For me, as an Individual Ishqi >>> Ahaan

as a partner, Ahaan > Ishqi

Also on the same page... when Ahaan emptied half the closet and the dresser for her, rather understand his gesture she sort of joked about the entire thing and he was a little miffed after that, rightly so - until they made up with the AC setting requirement. Yes she doesn’t need A B or C to be happy but understand the gesture and try to compliment him with similar gestures rather disappearing to meet Savi etc. This was something that bothered me in this entire track. Ishqi thinks reuniting Ahaan with his mother by revealing Dadi’s reality will make everything OK in his life - but it will only be ok from Savi’s perspective. The only thing she needed to do was confide in him about meeting a tortured woman In need and Ishqi’s insistence on helping that woman. But she manipulated situations and that she paid for by trusting the likes of Rhea over her own husband.

She doesn’t seem to understand how deeply he has been scarred with abandonment issues.

My mom’s from Mumbai so summer vacations were spent there growing up. Where we live, once there were only bungalows, the govt had given people land corresponding to how much they owned in what is now Pakistan. Over the years, that place had changed a lot!

@ bold: OMG so true. Things will be all okay only for Savy and never for Ahaan. Even when Dadi's truth comes out, Ahaan is a losing party here. He worshipped dadi all his life, he trusts her more than anyone and to know that same woman tortured his mother for 20 years will be another trauma for him. So it was needed to be handled very carefully.

Ishqi should have really gone with differernt route to bring Savvy in his life. Savvy came back as other man's girlfriend just what is told by dadi. Even in his hate, he might have had tiny hope that his mother was not that bad like Sonu. If he had seen his mother in hospital in that condition, maybe he would have not felt so much pain/dilemna.

S i o n / C h e m b u r areas I suppose?

Mumbai did get its share of migrants (mostly from Karachi and other parts of Sindh, plus all the Bollywood folks from Lahore/West Punjab), but perhaps not as much as Delhi.
