ML is super annoying these days with his fake and superficial acting. always absent from the scenes covered by his body double always acting as patnivraata "touch me not."
His expression is always fake like in a scene he was crying and suddenly happy as Sai got consciousness and it was very clear he was not crying previously....Boring male lead.

If we look at it from Sai's pov he was the ONLY one standing firm with her, for her.
Even in hospital Beast didi and BK were making up crap about her and the other's were complaining of their discomfort- like are they humans?
Could Ashwini, mohit, Shivani or even mr D chavan stop any of their pathetic inhumane uttering and thoughts at that critical moment? They said the word's- there was hardly any firmness to show how much Sai means to them.
But Pulkit did that. I haven't watched any of his other tracks - but he's the only one who's been able to call out these inhumane caricatures for what they are and that too w/out Sai knowing.
Like mohit said - everyone in that family takes advantage of the fact that she's an orphan- and in those moments for Pulkit to stand up and say that Sai has him, she doesn't have to worry about anyone or anything- it's a lifeline for Sai.
