About John Green, TBH, I haven't read his books but I do follow his YouTube channel and his videos/blogs are highly motivating! I watched the limited series Looking for Alaska which is based on his book and I loved it.

Is it because of the death of MC that you don't like it or just his style of writing? Would like to hear unpopular opinion😆 I have the book Paper Towns but haven't read it yet. Lemme know😳

I have read a lot of good things about John Green’s videos so I really want to check them out.
His characters seem otherworldly and I just can’t connect with them.
I do want to re read or listen to The Fault in My Stars to see if I have a different opinion now. I hardly remember anything of the book so reading it again won’t exactly be futile.

If I go long long back, there are some Chetan Bhagat books too that I gave one stars like Revolution 2020 and One Night @ the Call Center. But the above are the ones I have read in the past year or two.

I always judge people who like CB.. it's terrible writing TBH. I forgot about him🤣

I have conveniently erased my memory of reading Chetan Bhagat books otherwise those would have made it to the top of my list. I only liked 2 States, his other books I’ve read are trash.

I'd suggest you to watch the Looking for Alaska series! It's beautiful! Like 6-10 episodes but it's heart-wrenching.

Do watch vlogbrothers channel! It's fun! 3-5 minute videos but trust me, worth it! Always add something you didn't know.

The Midnight Library was the most recent disaster I read.

Even I disliked The Fault in Our Stars.

You are probably the only person I’ve come across who has openly said she doesn’t like Harry Potter. Even if people don’t like it, no one says it openly. I liked the five books I read, but I was never obsessed like most others.

The Namesake is also a highly revered book but I think people liked the movie more than the book.

I hated everything about it. Usually even if I don't like a book, I get the hype but I really don't for this one. It was predictable and boring.

2. Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

I liked this book only for the individual characters but I couldn't feel the romantic tension between them at all despite the main trope being my absolute favourite. It was such an underwhelming reading experience.

3. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

The twist infuriated me. It still gets on my nerves.

I don't know how I will feel about TFIOS now but I liked it a lot back when I read it. I didn't like his other book though, Turtles All The Way Down. His characters are too pretentious.

I am planning to pick up Normal People soon. I want to know why many people don't like it. 😆

Oh I forgot to mention The Silent Patient as well as Get a Life, Chloe Brown.
The “major twist” in The Silent Patient made me scratch my head in confusion because I kind of figured it out earlier and I found nothing twist worthy about it.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown made me wonder if I was cold hearted for not liking it. Most people who reviewed it have swooned over it.

You should read Normal People and form to your own opinion. You might actually like it since you are going in with low expectations.

There are some books one should know beforehand what to expect and what not to expect so you read it knowing fully well that this is not your regular story and you can judge the book for what it is.

Also I need to add The Kiss Quotient. I dont know what people liked about it, it was so boring and I felt no chemistry between the couple. The Bride Test was much better in terms of emotions.

Also agree with you about The Kiss Quotient. There was also something disturbing about abuse (if I remember correctly) so I was put off. Besides, the characters didn’t strike a chord with me. I am yet to read The Bride Test.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne was a fun book that largely deserved the hype it got.

The only thing good about his works is that it has pushed many people into a reading habit. Some get stuck on his books alone (or similar stuff) and others move on to better stuff.

@bold: I always remember him when people ask me which books you don't like.😆
