There is lot of difference and also similarities so difficult to elaborate everything..
telugu and Marathi style some things are similar and some different. Will try to see what all I can remember from the show which is incorrect
telugu father is Nanna not Appa.
the wedding - that was totally North Indian style wedding. You can check the Telugu wedding song I posted on this thread .. it’s from Murari movie (Mahesh Babu and Somali Bender)
the griha Pravesh scene in RR mansion, was not telugu. We don’t have pushing the rice Kalash, and when aarti is done, we put our hands in namaskaram .. not like behind the head as they showed.. the kumkum is applied below the Bindi and no grains on Tilak (akshata)
Like I said before, the mangalasutram looks different .. the traditional dhoti is same as Maharashtra style.
similarities with Marathi - the 2 round called sutras in Telugu.. but difference in Telugu it’s tied with a turmeric smeared thread and 3 knots. That is later changed to gold chain on a good day.
From my Marathi friend, I got to know the relations
are also similar..
like father’s sister is Attha or Athayya or Atthamma in Telugu and Marathi is Athya (correct me if i am wrong), and her husband is also Mama, Mammayya like in Marathi. I mean both mother’s brother and father’s sister’s husband are Mama in Telugu and Marathi..
Telangana has many more similarities regarding relations given its on the north and closer to Maharashtra. I know couple of telugu friends from Karimnagar/ Nizamabad districts of telangana .. they are my age who call mother and father as Aayi and Bapu, although this is very rare nowadays … the other common one in Telangana is father’s younger brother or mother’s younger sister’s husband is Kaka.
The calendar is similar for Marathi, Kannada and Telugu , it’s an Amavasyant month which means the lunar month ends on Amavasya.. we celebrate the same day as New year - ( Ugadi, Gudi Padma)
Telugu and Kannada script also look similar.. you can read some of the words easily between the 2 languages..
There are so many similarities and differences between Tamil and Telugu and same with Telugu, Kannada and Marathi..
