Interesting topic. Here are my two cents:

First of all I also believe it’s unfair to judge the audience who come watch TV to get entertained and are not bothered about progressive/regressive. The term TRP aunties is derogatory and need not be used. Simply blaming the older generation is also unfair. If their weak point was TRP drama then this generation also loves seeing couple’s chemistry. Let people watch what they want to watch on their subscription. Also at the end of the day it is a business. Profit is necessary so I can’t blame PHs for showing what they know will give them more profit.

However I feel like normalization of certain problematic behaviors/storylines need to be reduced. I understand that it is impossible to completely stop showing these behaviors but I would like them to reduce because they can influence people, consciously or subconsciously. For eg. The bad boy is ‘fixed’ by the girl, was a very common trope in all cultures and I have seen girls stay in bad relationships thinking they can change the guy.
I would rather PHs rely on other OTT tracks to grab eyeballs.

Two things:

1 - Fight is not that we abused each other. Fight is disagreement that was bit on high octane. And I dont mind that as its just a forum. It wont effect my life anyhow.

2 - Avoid using sorry with me. And if forums start hurting my feelings then I need to be in mental hospital.

So called youth/new gen shows tend to be either or. Like star one used to have, mindless fluff. Or too much preachy with khichdi of drama and "youth". Makers try to be all at once- they want to get the hot couple, also want the numbers, also want to send a social message. What I like about mhrw is even though pallo had a past as widow it didn't drag too much on societal commentary. It comes in bits pieces like how pallo once said if u don't respect yourself people take advantage of you.

When a show don't know what audience it needs to cater to, it will fail. Any top rated show knows it's Audience and it will have tracks exactly that. Even if there is commentary (like SNS had a scene where FL talks about sindoor marriage validity) it's a high voltage drama and any normal viewer who never watched it might get hooked into. Makers need to take a topic and stick to it and don't make khichdi. The rating system need to take into consideration of online too, like a majority chunk of audience shifted to online (though it's tough like how they will track insta clip/yt/illegal sites viewership). We need type of story telling. Also fans need to get over their superiority complex 😂😂 their show is best and all...like if we pick each characteristics or scene of any itv nothing will be new. Story same, presentation different.
