Because I have some time today (won't need to go to the hospital for another hour), I decided to write a post on how I would've written Pandya Store had I been the CV to the show because a lot of you appreciate what I write, even though I don't deserve it (my sister tells me all the time how bad of a writer I am 🤣) So figure out whether you want to appreciate me, or not appreciate me after reading this post since Pandya Store will definitely be very different if I had written it to the surprise of no one 🤣.

Villains --> See page 2

GauRa's Storyline

Not strangely enough, I would retain much of the GauRa storyline. The CVs really know how to show us a mature, sensible story through GauRa. There is love, trust, and camaraderie between them and I wouldn't change it for the world.

However, what I would change in the storyline is Dhara's relationship with Suman. Suman herself is a decent character, and I wish we had more of her, but sometimes she says things that are hurtful and mocking. Watching it, we might not have a problem since she is speaking to the characters doing something dumb or something they shouldn't have, but if I was on the receiving end, I think I would cry out of frustration. I don't mind seeing Suman wish for Dhara's growth. But I would've changed it.

We could've had a monologue from Suman where Suman explains how nice and forgiving Dhara is, just like Darshan, and if there is anything, Suman does not want to see a Darshan 2.0 and become hurt again. All the subtle things Suman does, from the taunts to her body language (i.e., eye rolls, scoffs, etc.) could've been a way to make Dhara stronger. Out of everyone in the family, Suman could've encouraged Dhara to work in the store, and if she didn't turn profits, consequences would be met. Instead of the usual saas-bahu drama, it could've been the saas trying to uplift her bahu. It could've been a saas trying her best to make history no repeat itself (i.e., Dhara being cheated by others).

GauRa's pregnancy track could've been the track that eventually breaks Suman as she wished her bahu to be stronger... not someone who is so busy that she forgot about the smaller things in life, such as seeking her own happiness by making a future for herself instead of constantly worrying about the family.

DevTa's Storyline

I would personally change it all 😂. I would first give DevTa a proper introduction. I realized that I know next to nothing about how it all started for DevTa, and as such, I'm finding it difficult to understand why they picked each other. Considering how well Gaumbi and Janardhan know each other, I would've thought that Rishita and Dev would've crossed paths as well sometime in their past.

Like ShiVi, I would've shown a childhood storyline between DevTa. One where Dev is mesmerized by Rishita's personality. They could've gone to the same school where Dev silently watches how Rishita doesn't care about anyone and only speaks the truth and begins to admire her. Rishita, in contrast, could've scoffed at how nice Dev was up until he showered some of his kindness onto her. He could've tutored her in school, building their relationship, and that could've been the start of DevTa.

Rishita's struggles to fitting in with the family, Dev's frustrations with Rishita's behavior could've all been ways the CVs could've tied DevTa's past with their present. Dev mentioned once he fell in love with Rishita because of how she supported those she loved... I just wish we had some of that here. Who did she support? How did she support them? Why did she support them? I don't want superhero Rishita coming in at the end of each kaand to save the day... I want Rishita to win the respect of the family members in other ways.

Shiva could've changed his tune when he saw Rishita sharing something or even apologizing to Raavi. Krish could've realized she's not all that bad when Rishita engages in gossip with him, something no one else in the family does. Dhara and Rishita's relationship could've been filled with tension as they are opposite personalities. Dhara is very much a, "I love my family" and Rishita is a "I love my independence" type. Their relationship could've been built over the entire series. It could've been a push and pull where Rishita slowly realizes why Dev is so obsessed about his bhabi while Dhara slowly realizes the importance of independence.

I would've loved to see Rishita, trying to win her independence as best as possible, setting up a small business for herself. Her 'successful' business could've been the central tension to the DevTa storyline with Janardhan constantly asking her why she continues to stay with the Pandya family if she's more successful than them. Rishita, initially, could've responded, "Because I love, Dev." However, after getting to know the family, she could've said, "Because they are my family. My success is their success." Her finances could've mixed together with the Pandya family's, and that could've been the true 'redemption' point for her after she says mean things to them in the beginning.

Shiva's Background Storyline

I wouldn't change a thing about ShiVi's childhood story; however, I would've added more scenes. There's this little story idea I had (after writing up a full post of Raavi setting up an earring shop). Essentially, the idea goes like this: Shiva wants to buy Dhara a birthday present as it would be the first birthday she celebrates with the Pandya family after getting married. As such, Shiva skips school and finds work. No one knows until Raavi points it out to Dhara. Dhara gets mad, but she calms down once she realizes why Shiva skipped school. She allows Shiva to work no more than 2 hours at Pandya Store to get the money he needs to buy her a present (becoming the start of his attachment to the story) And, she tells Shiva that the best birthday present he could give her is, "Walking across the stage and getting your diploma, working at your dream job, and finding happiness in every aspect of your life." This one scene could've been the background scene of why Shiva respects and loves Dhara so much... she was the first to show him pure love outside of his parents.

That scene could've been the background to Shiva's education track. After hearing Dhara's words, Shiva could've been motivated to work hard to achieve something special (i.e., engineer, lawyer, doctor, anything). However, when he learns that Pandya Store is in trouble, he gives up everything. We could've had a scene where Shiva actually finishes school, and is set to get his diploma, until he hears about the troubles Pandya Store is facing. He could've shook hands with the bad guys to willingly get "caught" in a cheating scandal (he did not take part in) to get money that would temporary keep the shop afloat. The cheating scandal, and the subsequent expulsion from school, could've been the reason why everyone in town thinks of him to be "stupid" and why he has such a visceral reaction to it all. Even though Shiva let Dhara down by not walking across the stage, he could've told himself, "His happiness is linked to his family's happiness. If he had not ruined his own life, his whole family could've been disappointed and miserable versus just Dhara being disappointed in him."

ShiVi Storyline

Again, I would add more scenes of ShiVi's childhood, including their teenage years, where you see a more apparent tension between them both. Dev could've been the side character in all these scenes, annoyed that ShiVi are lost in their own world.

After marriage, I would've played the "Beauty and the Beast" track at it's best. In the initial days, I would've explored all of Raavi's fears and judgments towards Shiva (there is nothing wrong with showing a positive female lead having doubts); however, I slowly would've erased these doubts through Shiva's silent actions. Just like how he supported Raavi by saying, "Her name is Raavi," when they first married, I would also show him supporting her in other ways. Holding her hand when he recognizes she is scared. Placing a cup of chai (in my PS-story, Dhara would've taught them basic kitchen skills) on the bedroom nightstand for when she wakes up. After her doubts are gone, I would then show Raavi to be a happy go-lucky girl who lives life every day.

The ring scene from the OG show could've played, making Shiva realize the importance of financial independence for Raavi. This could've been how he helps set up a business for her (Read post in Esha's Thread of Scene Requests) to have her grow from "happy, innocent" girl to someone who becomes tough and business savvy. Raavi could've transitioned from someone who was heavily dependent on Shiva to someone could carry her own ground.

Finally, coming back to Shiva's background tension, I actually would've written a Shiva breakdown scene during a childhood scene. The Shiva we know and love cares for nothing in terms of other peoples' opinions. He became tough for some reason, and I would've loved that reason to be connected to his education. After giving up his degree, he could've broken down with the town calling him "gawar" as only he knows the truth. His break down could've been show immediately after Raavi jokingly calls him "gawar." After this breakdown scene, Dhara's subsequent reaction, he could've promised himself to never drink ever again nor be bothered with other people's opinions.

As Raavi herself grows as a businesswoman, she could've found out about Shiva's past, and this could've been where she regrets every single word she said to him. This could've been the moment where she realizes Shiva's true character, and the start of her feelings for him. She would have an entire track of her just finding out the truth behind the cheating scandal and proving Shiva's innocence. And finally, when she does, she could give Shiva his degree certificate as a birthday present (first birthday present being the OG track, and second birthday present being this), and when Shiva asks her why she did everything, she could've said, "You worked so hard to help me, so please let me have the chance to help you. Let me help you fulfill Dhara di's last wish of seeing you walk across the stage."

After this, their proper love story would play!

Also, sorry for the abrupt end. My 1 hour of freedom is gone and now (hence couldn't explain Maami, Anita, or Janardhan's tracks) I have to go to the hospital. Will have the time to respond once I get back home!

I love love this..wait your sister tells you are not a good writer- either you don't show her your work or you left her favorite story in the middle and she was annoyed🤣

You changed the plot but retained the essence of what we wanted from PS. Dhara-suman was beautiful. Raavi's growth was what I wanted from her- I never had problem with her having doubts about this relation. Rishita is relatable and her character arc is fantastic.

I strengthen my claims to make you the writer🤣

I understand the abrupt ending because of work. However I would like to listen to the tracks you would have had for the villains someday. I am willing to wait patiently 😊

My sister and I have a hate-hate relationship. She loves to hate on me and I love to hate on her. Her hating on my stories was because I added unnecessary drama into one of her favorite couples and she has since never forgiven me (she likes to read fluffy, vanilla romances 😆)

I’ve always enjoyed stories where characters have complex relationships, so I’m glad you enjoyed everything. I was afraid that things weren’t making sense at the end because of how fast I typed everything out 😆. I genuinely like Rishita, when she isn’t being OTT, as I relate to her, and the CVs are slowly making her nothing more than a dramatic bahu who is self centered 🤢

When I come back home, I’ll write the villains stories! But thank you again!

Beautiful take on Pandya Store's stories👏

If you have been the writer of the show, it would turn into a beautiful story 💓

Your take on Shivi, Gaura ,Devta and Suman Dhara was so perfect

It has the flavour of the show with more depth and some different scenarios🤗

Waiting for your take on the villians of the show

Avi, this is really beautiful❤️

We all want you to be the writer of the show...I guess we need to trend this on TT. You have penned this down so beautifully keeping the core essence of the show intact❤️ How I wish we get atleast 1% of this onscreen

My favorite parts were Suman- Dhara, entire Devta storyline and yes Raavi's character growth❤️

Waiting for your take on Maagin, Jaanu and Motiben

This post is gold....you are an amazing writer🤗

This was amazing, Avi. You should ignore your sister 😆 You write beautifully.

I loved the Suman-Dhara take. I also wish Dhara could develop a bond with Suman, where she can openly share her wishes- right now, Suman is on a pedestal for Dhara, any grievances Dhara has, she needs to vent out to Gaumbi. She has no female support or sounding board. She doesn't share her pain or fears with the kids too, amd Anita seemed to be her only friend, we know how that relation is 😒

I really really loved your ideas for DevTa- they definitely can explore their past and help us understand why Dev chose Rishitha. I believe Rishitha represented a freedom from the burden of being the star kid of the family. It would also have be nice to see a non-cribbing, fun Rishitha.

And finally ShiVi. The cheating scandal is such a nice idea. Shiva taking money for the family also makes perfect sense. Also, Raavi's journey of discovering Shiva. This is what I miss from the OG. Mullai probably grew up watching Kathir, but she truly had no idea who he was, and had to get to know him bit by bit. The makers here wanted to set up a scenario where Shiva and Raavi's world revolved around each other- so it is not a major undertaking to get to know each other. I wish here they did set up a Dev-ShiVi conflict, like Piu mentioned.

That apart, I loved that all the women are working in your PS land, and they learn off each other- Dhara about independence, Rishitha about adjusting her needs, and Raavi about having some direction and looking beyond the surface.

Sorry, I went into a rant 🙈

Pandya Store Villains Edition

I've always loved villains who are villains with a touch of relatability. Characters that are evil, only for the sake of being evil, are quite boring. Instead, villains should constantly make you wonder whether they are right or whether they are wrong. At least, those are the best written out villains in my mind. People you could sympathize and hate all at the same time.

Prafulla Narayan

"She's the last memory I have of my sister... of course I want to see her happy!!"

One of the biggest potential storylines PS can explore is Prafulla's equation with her sister prior to her death. I really like the use of flashbacks when they add depth and meaning to the story, and for Prafulla, I would include a flashback which explains the story of how Raavi landed in Prafulla's arms. Imagine Raavi and Prafulla's first scene together, where Prafulla is lifting newborn Raavi into her arms, and Raavi grabs onto Prafulla's finger. Prafulla could've had an instant connection of, "I'll always love you!" despite knowing that Raavi will never be hers. Of course, 10 days later, when Raavi loses her parents, Prafulla could explain her point of view when she adopts Raavi into the family. In this day and age, boys are still preferred over girls (it's the sad truth 😢). Prafulla not only adopted Raavi into her family, but she also treats Raavi with enormous amounts of love. Giving into her wishes, giving bridal jewelry, doing whatever it took to get Raavi married to Dev, even if she had to put aside her ego. This is the Maami that I wish was explored.

The mess with Darshan Pandya? I wish Prafulla did it all to secure Raavi and Shivang's futures. Despite knowing that cheating her brother-in-law was wrong, Prafulla knew she wouldn't get the money as quickly and as easily otherwise... As for the kangans? Well, in the beginning, she takes them for the sole purpose of, "I love these!" However, as she slowly loses everything, those kangans could've been the final "gifts" she gives to Raavi and Shivang. Each of them could've gotten 1 kangan as Prafulla truly couldn't afford to give anything more to her children. However, once Raavi marries Shiva, all resolve of giving the kangans is thrown out the window. Shiva and Maami's relationship had always been unique in the sense that they act like Tom and Jerry with no age restrictions between them. They both poke and taunt each other (unlike Shiva and Raavi where Raavi does most of the poking). I would've loved to see a pre-marriage scene where Maami is preparing to give up her kangans for Raavi, and a post-marriage scene of Maami deciding, "I'll never give up the kangans as long as she is married to Shiva."

Thus, the kangans could've served as background tension for the rest of the series with Prafulla doing her best to get Raavi out of the relationship despite Raavi telling her she has no desire because she doesn't believe Shiva can give Raavi the happiness she deserves. In Prafulla's mind, Shiva is a man who couldn't complete his degree, is no better than a servant in his own store, and has extreme anger issues. Prafulla could've done crazy things, getting Raavi to speak to a divorce lawyer (cue Raavi's dirty look and, "I thought we discussed this"), showing Raavi pictures of NRI boys (with Raavi sighing and saying, "I'm not leaving Shiva" and Prafulla in her desperation saying something stupidly crazy like, "You don't have to, they are NRI boys who don't mind an extramarital affair" cue Raavi's annoyance), to setting up blind dates for Raavi (all while Shiva knows this is happening). When Shiva doesn't feel jealous in the slightest that Raavi is meeting up all of this, Prafulla could've "proved" her point that Shiva doesn't care (causing Shiva and Raavi's first misunderstanding).

However, Prafulla's tune changes when she sees Shiva's caring side. When she learns about Raavi's jewelry shop, Prafulla becomes Raavi's biggest supporter! She publicizes the earrings that Raavi designs all throughout the town, and this helps boost Raavi's sales. Each week she picks up Raavi's new designs, she could meet Shiva where initially, they have their usual kangan war... but as time passes, they begin to cool down. Shiva sees Prafulla's excitement for Raavi, and Prafulla sees the efforts Shiva puts in for Raavi. As time passes, Prafulla learns that Shiva doesn't touch a single rupee of Raavi's money, which completely changes Prafulla's opinion of Shiva. At Raavi's store opening, she finally gives Raavi the kangans because she's fully accepted Shiva as a son-in-law, and Shiva gives Prafulla new kangans because she was Raavi's staunchest supporter.

Janardhan and Kamini Seth

"I didn't raise you all these years just so you could abandon us."

Janardhan and Kamini are problematic. They are emotionally abusive, manipulative, and extremely prideful. They don't take losing very well; hence why they are particularly angry with Rishita and how she point blank ran away. I would love to see a story where Janardhan and Kamini put all their hopes and pride in Rishita because they know Keerthi is too good for her own good. I want to see a storyline where Janardhan and Kamini introduce Rishita to many different business vendors and politicians because it is Kamini's dream to have Rishita take over the political empire some day.

However, when Rishita runs away to be with Dev, their egos speak more than anything else. Janardhan and Kamini's first step is emotional abuse (what they are already showing right now) of abandoning Rishita by excluding her from the family and preventing her from meeting her mother. They think everything is going well, but when Janardhan loses business and Kamini loses votes, their second step is to kidnap Rishita (however, the goons kidnap Raavi instead, with Shiva following them). When that doesn't work, Janardhan decides to hit Rishita where it hurts most: the business she opened. He tells her that she is only successful because she is his daughter, and that without him and Kamini, she is nothing. He tells all his business partners to pull out of Rishita's business, and this leads to Rishita doubting herself and speaking to Dev about her insecurities (this conversation could've been the pivotal point in DevTa's relationship with Dev supporting Rishita and telling her that her father and bua are wrong)

Once Rishita's independent business slowly declines to the point of bankruptcy, she decides to help Dhara at Pandya Store, and that is when she gets to know Dhara better. She understands the meaning of family, and she understands how the Pandya family are different from her own (this whole track could have been Rishita's redemption angle with GauRa and Dev supporting her at the sidelines). Eventually, Janardhan and Kamini try to target Pandya Store (thus affecting Raavi's earring business), and this time, the entire family stands together, Rishita including, to protect the store. The family wins and saves Pandya Store.

When Rishita speaks with Janardhan and Kamini, they ask her why she stays with the "middle-class" family, especially when she could have all the money in the world if she stayed with them. And she responds she stayed because the Pandya family stood by her during her darkest moments while Janardhan and Kamini abandoned her. She tells both of them that she learned how to forgive and forget through Raavi, and she wishes to make Raavi proud of her, so she's willing to forgive and forget all the mistakes they've made. However, she also warns that if they try to touch the family again, she will not be so easy with them. Janardhan is angry that Rishita could abandon them so easily, but Kamini tells him it is not worth it. She's already lost significant political appeal and Janardhan has lost many influential contacts to the Pandya brothers along the way. Kamini tells him that if Rishita really wants to come home, she can.

*After thinking long, I realized that not all stories need to have happy endings. A few girls in my family eloped, and to this day, they are not invited back home. I think it's important to show, in ITV at least, that happiness can come in all different forms. In my version, I would like to think Rishita finds her happiness while she is with the Pandya family, and not with her family.

Anita

"I didn't think I would find happiness after making such a selfish decision. Why... why do you keep coming into my life? Why do you keep taunting me with the promise of love?"

Each person has different standards and levels of annoyance, and for me... I cannot tolerate people who lust after a married or taken individual. Which is why I believe Anita's character to be brutally destroyed by the CVs... there's really no redemption for her at this point! None whatsoever!

In my version, I would retain Anita's pre-haveli days. She is extremely regretful of everything that happened... especially when she sees Dhara living the happiest of lives with Gaumbi and the rest of the Pandya brothers. She is resentful of experiencing undue hatred from the Pandya brothers, despite letting go of Gaumbi all these years. In short, Anita is very convinced she would never find happiness in her life after making the mistakes she's made. She's convinced she will be single until she gets to know Hardik.

Anita and Hardik's love story would be one of fate. There would be multiple (filmy) scenes of "fates wants them together." But, both of them ignore these signs as mere coincidences and both of them agree that love isn't in their future. However, both of them continue to meet coincidentally at the Pandya House as Hardik goes to see Dhara, and Anita goes to see Raavi. They somehow always get stuck in the same room together, and slowly, their relationship improves when Hardik begins to crack awkward jokes of the Pandya brothers causing Anita to agree and laugh.

Soon enough, they look forward to meeting each other, and begin to meet each other outside of the Pandya family house. Dhara has a hard time trusting Anita, but if the 10 years of loneliness taught Anita anything, it was to stand up for her rights. Anita tells Dhara that she enjoys Hardik's company and Dhara has no right to tell Hardik who to meet and who not to meet. Hardik is impressed by this and begins to pursue her romantically, which Anita doesn't understand. However, when she realizes what he is doing, she immediately shuts off, not trusting that she could ever find love.

Hardik would patiently shower his love for Anita, and slowly, as the days pass, Anita begins to melt and trust again. Her relationship with Dhara also begins to improve when she starts to help out at the store (since Raavi set up a small section for her earring business). Eventually, Anita marries Hardik, finally realizing what love means.
