Revanth, I don't know much as I did not really follow Idol 9 much

Here SMP is a different character altogether. She does not confirm to the stereotype image of a goody goody Lata - Asha type singer. She has created a niche for herself by going with a very different approach to singing, in spite of being a classically trained singer.

And being a girl, will always be trolled and that too very hard. I sometimes doubt, if makers of Idol 12 are in two minds, whether to encourage her or get rid of her!

A simple eg: was, when Nihal just went bonkers with his funny and lovable act during rendition of "Babu samjho ishare" there was so much of appreciation for him on the media channel (youtube). In fact we were all in splits during that act of his

But Shanmukha is doing something similar, the common troll would be - "Murder kar diya gaane ka!"

Or that ki over acting Karti hai...

Totally agree with you...

While I have seen men trying to imitate Kishore Kumar's style and his antics, I don't think I have seen a female coming so close before.. maybe others can pitch in if they have seen another female this way..

I think even a few Telugu people who watch don't support her due to her unconventional approach.

But on the other hand we also see a few non Telugu people actively supporting her for her uniqueness..

We just need to see if that uniqueness gets enough votes or not..

Have seen many Bengalis supporting her on youtube.

May be it is due to tendency to acclaim creativity is more ingrained in the people of that region

When Sayli was saying "come on come on" , I thought , the scene of "disco dancer" will be replayed with "Jimmi Jimmi aja aja aja" when Mithun's character forgot the dance steps and the lady sang to cheer him up on stage..😯

SK I agree with you. During C2005 Hemachandra & Himabindu both were from Andhra and during those days not many watched hindi musical shows in those states as they have their own.

GiridharM

Hemachandra of C2005 & Karunya of II3? paved the road for Sreeramchandra and Revanth later on. By than southern states started paying attention and started voting. But but No one can beat NE region or Bangali audiance. Tremendous amount of vote bank came and comes from there. Even as popular state as Maharashtra can't compete with NE. Otherwise how can Debojeet Saha win over Nihira Joshi?

Show manipulates and promotes contestants and backs off when they feel like it. Watch it for what it is. Whoever is supposed to achieve success will. Winner doesn't mean the best or most successful in their career.😊

Revanth is very different case in my opinion. He was an established playback singer before coming to II. I never understood why he went to II. Post II I don't see him doing much playback. Same with Sreeramachandra. I guess Hemachandra even though didn't won but he is having better career in south. I don't know if it's a jinx none of winners made big even though all became popular with II.

After II singers gets into concert mode to earn money and by the time they return back they will loose that grip I guess. I hope atleast II12 contestants get some real career and don't depend only on concerts.

Hemachandra and Karunya both have their own successful careers in south. both their families are musical family even Hema's wife is a singer.

Irfaan from Andhra has become good MD & Singer.

Sreeramchandra was out here 2 yrs back with Preetam. Not sure what he is doing otherwise.

Revanth no clue. Knew he was already established.
