How the hell a 30 year old man playing a 16 year old?

It is so weird. Worse than Sallu bhai playing 25 year old in Radhe. I am surprised that they could not find someone even in their early 20s to play that role. I am talking about never have I ever.

No one commented. Imagine if it was the case in BW.

Ehh yeah it's a little weird, especially because he looks so much older than the rest of the cast and has wrinkles. Not to mention the main girl was a minor in the first one.

But it's no different than Bollywood actors pretending to be 30 when they are almost 60.

Another one is Roomate where Minka Kelly plays a college freshman at the age of 30. In her defense, she can almost pass off as a girl in her early twenties there, if not 18.

Even Gossip Girl is a bunch of high schoolers played by actors in their early to mid twenties.

The issue of age-appropriate roles gets problematic in bollywood when male actors' careers as the "hero" spans decades while they upgrade their "arm candies" every five years. THAT is deeply rooted in sexism and misogyny whereas these 30 year olds playing 16 year old in some show is just a miscast without any social repercussions.
