T family never behaved like a normal family that's why it's very hard to digest this much hashness from them ..they always said Imlie is their beti but they flipped the moment their son is Imlie's pati..they were shocked but their reaction were to OTT..

Families cannot accept if their child marries someone outside of their community and acceptance is hard to come by in many cases, the cultural differences being one, then comes the financial/oonch neech and all that... practically this happens in a family as there are long standing repercussions.

Society is changing but still has a long way to go.

Yes! T's reaction is partially in line with the stigmas around and more on venting their frustration about the truth being kept them from so long. Just because thats "normal" and they are feeling wronged doesnt mean that they should lash out this viciously to Imlie even after knowing the truth. Then what is the difference between Ts and Malini?

Was she not the one who lashed out at Imlie for her frustrations about her dysfunctional marriage, jealousy and her delusions?

The anger is on their son who betrayed their trust and made a mother question her upbringing. Also who was responsible for changing her son so much, Imlie. So it is easy to target her as many have in the past + Anu and lash out at her. Plus her status in their eyes is that of a help, however much they sugarcoated it etc in the past, ki ghar ki beti.. today the T's true colors are shown.. all talk only..

Malini should have lashed out against her pati Adi but instead picked on Imlie as she was a soft target..

There can be many perspectives on the above, it is all in the eyes of the beholder.

Imo, those who are closest to us or we love the most have the power to hurt us the most. Like how could they say that.... this is exactly what apu is doing today by lashing out at Adi n Imlie whom she cared for deeply. There was that bond between them that caused her to say those things today.

At the end of the epi when PT said Malini hai tumhare patni ..Adi's expressions changed ..he realized that aree ye divorce Wali baat to hum bhul hi gaye the ..ab ye niptana padega😆

I like your take on that - he wanted to tie Imlie to his side. I did not think of that...these pheras in a house with no priest no matras ,,, is it really considered a valid wedding? T family did not even give it the slightest regard. Seemed more like drama quotient to me...but if that was his thought process and that was communicated well - I would jhave liked seeing that
