A story has no beginning or end: arbitrarily, one chooses that moment of experience from which to look back or look ahead.

Graham Greene

Image

Today’s episode was significant in many terms. While we see a happy Shiva with childlike exuberance, making sure Ravi gets a glimpse of his carefree nature through his prank, we get this epic dance too. We also see how Funny It could be to have this historical childhood together. These are children who were thrown into a marriage together. They grew up with each other, hitting each other and above all being in opposite teams.

We also see many references to their childhood where Shiva reminds Ravi about their prank with a lizard – a common thread of their memories throughout the years. We also Are shown a glimpse of how vivid, happy and triumphant Shiva can be. I am sure many of you might be left wondering about the sudden transition of an anxious, angry and mildly upset Shiva Suddenly being jovial again.

The transition wasn’t very well executed from one episode to another. But, hasn’t that been a pattern with Shiva? He always tries to snap out of a particular emotion that overwhelmed him, and the moment he immerses himself as a prankster, that’s the precise time we see him truly happy. That brings me back to the premise of scaring Rishita, where we see Ravi complimenting Shiva’s uninhibited laughter for the first time! We will be talking about his laugh and prank sometime later. But, today is the time for travelling back to the moment where It all began!

There’s a song in the room played by Raavi that was reasonably symbolic. Ravi decides to see relationships in a new light, wanting to start new Friendships. But is that so easy? For the first time, we see Shiva talking about the part of his life which contains nothing but the memories of her fights.

Let me take a moment, pause, breathe and appreciate the choice of song by the creatives. The song is a legendary one written by the maestro Sahir Ludhianvi himself. I have a notable weakness for this song. For a generation who hasn’t been exposed to his songs, they can google his rich history with Urdu poetry. He belongs to The clan of poets like Amrita Pritam, Saadat Hasan Manto, Ismat Chughtai. Their friendships, stories and letters are treasured in the pages of the internet. And, who doesn’t know about the legendary unrequited romance between the feminist writer Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi? Ahead of her times, Amrita Pritam never could unite with Sahir, and one of our famous poems is “Main Tenu Phir Milenge”. In this song, too, There is haunting loneliness about lovers coming together and then departing in the unknown realm of being strangers again.

Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se Lyrics and Translation:-Copied

Chalo ek baar phir se, ajnabii ban jaaye.n ham dono.n
Come, let us become strangers once again.

na mai.n tumse koii ummiid rakhuu.n dilnavaaziikii
I shall no longer maintain hopes of compassion from you
na tum merii taraf dekho ghalat andaaz nazaro.n se
Nor shall you gaze at me with your deceptive glances.
na mere dil ki dhaDkan laDkhaDaaye merii baato.n me.n
My heart shall no longer tremble when I speak,
na zaahir ho tumhaari kashm-kash ka raaz nazaro.n se
Nor shall your glances reveal the secret of your torment
.

Shiva mentions today that to start as strangers, we would have to become children again, and that’s not possible. A significant point where their familiarity can explode into a lifetime of love. There are many questions left unanswered. Was Ravi important to Shiva as a child? Was he in love? Was he the third wheel between Dev and Ravi? Or, he secretly nurtured a crush on her? Or, he secretly wished to be the centre of her universe as she was his? All these questions and much more can only be answered if we travel in a capsule to their childhood.

Jab, we Met... Where it all Began...

The first introduction to the kids happen with Dhara running towards Maami’s house, and the first thing she asks the kids is to play with Ravi, and she reprimands Siva by warning him not to be smart with Ravi. We are introduced to the tiny Ravi; her first dialogue Is being Dev, where she glances at him with love, and the moment Shiva’s name is mentioned, she changes her expression to a nasty one!

Raavi chanting Dev 🤔😄😎

Image

Look at the change of her expression when Shiva is mentioned. There seems to be a charged pair of anger between the kids right from the word go. We are not shown an error before this but Dara’s conversation hints at their prevalent animosity. Hence, her warning to Shiva.

Image

Tiny Shiva isn’t very happy, he just glares in anger.💔🤣Tiny Shiva isn’t very happy, he just glares in anger.

Image

See this is what I was talking about in my previous posts. Dev Raavi Friendship was genuine from childhood. He genuinely appreciated her looks and everything she did. There is a childlike innocence in their friendship.❤️
Well, Dev was just being Dev 🤪

Image

Look at the grumpy expression of Shiva when Dev calls Ravi beautiful. 😆 Chotu ko pasand nahi aya 🤣

Image

Look at the beaming Chhoti Ravi! She can’t seem to contain her excitement on being called beautiful by our perfect Dev While our Sadu Sadakchaap Shiva burns🤣

His instant reaction Is a Mami key Behen Ki beti🤗

Image

😆 Aag boy being Aaag 🤪

Image

He calls her Chahundar 👹

Image

Tiny beauty queen gets supremely annoyed and says mean things to Shiva, like you are a mouse not me. Dev also said that I am beautiful! Oh, Ravi! You and your Dev chant🤣

Image

Image

And, there The Junglee Shiva goes bizarre because Ravi wouldn’t stop chanting Dev! 💁‍♀️ He made her his Raavi instead of Dev’s pretty princess.

Image

Now the villain is happy! Shiva rejoices Commenting that now she looks amazing and beautiful!

Ekdum Fitto Fit 🤪

The next set of caps are interesting! Where we see a glimpse of care, concern and goodness of Dev. He had always been there for Ravi against Shiva. Shiva was nothing but a bully to her and most of his bullying stemmed from the animosity between him and Mami. He called her an enemy because she was born to Prafulla. Psychologically too, We see Shiva fairly obsessed with Maami and thereafter Ravi.

Image

Dev just being Dev 😆

Image

🤣

Image

Classic Shiva being angry at Dev for coming between him and Raavi. Ab villain and heroine ke beech main hero ka kya kaam 🤣🤣

Image

Main Teri Dushman.. Dushman to mera..

Nagin Nevla Pair 💏
Image

Shiva being nasty as always refusing to apologise simply because he had fun teasing the lizard. Am I reading too much or Shiva always found her to be his prank toy?😆

Image

Did he enjoy teasing her secretly? Did he get annoyed when he didn’t have attention? There are thousands of questions that surfaced during the scene and are left to our imagination? Do you think after all this history they can become strangers and start fresh? Shiva was right! Every Kissa of his childhood revolves around her! Can she wipe it off?🤣

It’s interesting to note that most of our adulthood issues are deeply rooted in childhood. Abandonment, drama attachment disorder, being to assertive Or too timid – all these character attributes and much more are shaped by the experiences of childhood.

You can become dreamily naive Or emotionally unregulated given your childhood experiences. Do we see a pattern here? Did she was hint at his childhood reflect a hidden pain in his heart where he was third wheeling between Ravi and Dev? Well, these are unanswered questions, and I am hoping the creatives take this route of exploring their bond right from the beginning.

This is me signing of for today. I will keep continuing in the next post about their emotional journey to adulthood.

Since a lot of you asked for a link to the posts. Here it is: Chip in Folks!

Main Toh Dev Ki Team main Hun Humesha

Because what’s worse than knowing you want something besides knowing you can never have it?

James Patterson

As they say, childhood issues can leave long-lasting memories. As children, we often crave love, attention and try to form fixated bonds with people of our age. These bonds could be in the form of siblings or friends. But here, we see a completely different equation altogether. It’s neither friendship nor blind animosity.

There is constant bickering, Wonder and thought about some things that are never meant to be. Right from childhood, we have seen Shiva third-wheeling between the two.
Ravi always wanted to be in Dev‘s team. What makes one believe that life would have been otherwise? Well, nothing!

We see a Bhukkad Shiva trying to gobble as much as the food that Pan and when reprimanded for troubling Ravi, he apologises as Dhara commands him. The scene is interesting because we see Shiva not angry at saying sorry but grumpy and unhappy.

Image

Maami ke cashew Nuts par attack 👊 😆

Image

Teasing Maami is important too 😌

Image

Raavi crying and complaining About the one and only villain in her life.😛

Image

10 things don’t change, do they? She was stuck to her Maasi Maa while complaining about Juunglee Shiva.👹

Image

Villain ko Roti Hui heroine ko dekhkar bura lag raha hai 🤣

Image

Look at the way he apologises to her. There is no anger, resentment or hate. There is a head hang in shame and quiet defiance 🤣

Shiva-the Child

I know it’s an Indian television show, and given the kind of history I had with such family shows, I refuse to believe that they would probably Explore deeper. But, couldn’t help Wonder whether Shiva suffers from a subconscious emotional identification or not!

Right from childhood, we see him trying to take responsibility for his family, his mother and support them wherever possible. His hyperactivity and resentment towards any form of infantilise action can be due to this factor.

That’s why we see him emotionally closed, more like a lone wolf and in constant need for being the question for being the cushion for the family. He often takes it upon himself to seek revenge, take tasks beyond his human capacity and also uphold the family together. The innocence of such children is often lost at an early age, and whatever we see of Shiva is a classic example of someone who wants to grow up faster to take responsibility.

Apart from his squabbles with Dev, which are more likely to stem from sibling rivalry and his flamboyance, there is nothing childlike in Shiva. He wants to grow up fast, and how?

The same quest for revenge is seen when he enters Maami’s house with his marbles to teach her a lesson. This is not merely a prank played by a child but a fit of adult-like anger to avenge his brothers. We finally see another confrontation of Ravi and Shiva-There's a constant amusing banter and the exact revelation of Ravi always belonging to team Dev.

Image

Yeh aya Badla lene Maami k ghar Shiva with his marbles neatly placed on the begging plate given by Maami 🤪Melodramatic is he?🤪isn't it?

Image
I am keeping the part where he makes Mami fall and whatever follows and giving it a pass

Look at Shiva’s flamboyance and unapologetic behaviour for making someone fall down so brutally.😛

Image

Enters the most pretty Chhoti Ravi with her heartfelt laughter on Shiva’s antics. 🤣Look how genuinely innocent is she, away from any form of malice.

Image

The villain is shocked, stunned, stupefied and dazed 💁

Why is she smiling at me?

Image

The young princess is still smiling!

Image

Look at his cuteness, tiny eyes rolling in wonder about why this little lizard is happy when he’s the villain.

Image

Image

She breaks his heart mercilessly by proclaiming that she will never be a part of his team!

Image

And, there she goes again! With her Dev chant😆With her Dev chant🤣 Like Hare Dhars, Choti Raavi was all Hare Dev 😆

Image

There she adds forever to!

Isn’t it ironical? The childhood dream was to be in the team of Dev forever, the nightmare is now with Shiva. Who can blame her for cursing her destiny? And, is it so easy to forget for Shiva that this girl chanted Dev, and always been in love with her brother? That’s why, they can never be strangers!

Image

Clashes again! Dev – being the common cause of his annoyance! Makes me wonder whether if Ravi would have been happier in Shiva’s team, would he still allow her?🤪

Image

Calls her a lizard again👹

Image

Look at her crestfallen face! And please hug her!🤗

He knew it was a horrible time, but seeing her kicked his heart into overdrive.

Jhalla Kahin Ka

“I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times, in life after life, in age after age forever.” – Rabindranath Tagore

Whenever I go back to revisit this episode, I can think of only one song – Jhalla Wallah. Waise😄, I totally want Shiva to be called Jhalla again 🤣

Since this content is related to children; I am not posting the song link here

it’s important to note here that emotional baggage due to childhood unresolved issues can cause a lot of baggage and conflicting emotions. We often see Shiva compartmentalising his emotions, and has unpredictable mood swings. He might be temperamental but there is an unresolvedAnger in him.

we often seen people commenting that Shiva has fire with them and we do see him carrying a huge emotional baggage most of the times. Despite being expressive with this emotions related to the family, there is a part of him which is lonely, likes to function as a lone wolf and feels that any form of vulnerability will make himLess protective of his family. The Dev-Shiva-Raavi Angle could be a huge exploration concept where it could finally help Shiva overcome his latent sibling rivalry, and would help him move past his apprehensions, fears and emotional loneliness.

The dynamics of the scene is extremely similar to what we saw at the birthday party. Shiva constantly bullying Ravi, teasing Mami and the moment Ravi chants Dave’s name, his angry antenna starts working 🤪

🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆 Chalo Decode karte hain

Image

Shiva getting agitated as usual by seeing Maagin smiley37smiley37

Image

Raavi requesting Maami to give the Kangans to Shiva because they are family. Isn't it ironic? Raavi was the ultimate trigger for Maami to give the Kangans to Shiva! Somethings never change, do they?

Image

Look at the pouty Billa suddenly changing into pouty at his Beauty Queen Heroine! smiley37🥰

His expression is hilarious as the Villain is unable to understand why heroine is defending him smiley37🥴

Image

Haye haye poor Raavi smiley18

Mami just gives her beating for talking in favour of Shiva smiley29

Image

Dev ko Dard hua but look at Krish. 😆

I love the shampoo hair Wala chotu Krish smiley37🤗

Image

Dev, the hero scolding. Usko Dukhta hai smiley37

Image

Awwww, poor Raavi. Maagin is a real smiley35

Image

Poor Dev looks so pained while Shiva runs behind Maami to hoot her. smiley37

Image

Dev being Dev smiley39Tera Kaan tho ekdum lAal ho gaya hai smiley37Aww, he is such a softie. This reminds me how precious their bond was, simple and pure. smiley43

Image

He touches her ears and awww, this is such a sensitive scene from Dev. I can't believe how he could leave Raavi at the altar, but I don't complain smiley39

Image

I couldn't help but capture their journey of friendship smiley39

Image

But, isse pehle Hero Heroine ka Nain Matakka hota, Villain ki Awaz aa gayi smiley44

Image

The villain doesn't want Dev to touch his Mami ki Behen ki Beti 🤪 Reason-Dev’s hand 🙌 will become dirty 🤓

Image

And could come up with the latest retort, Maami should have hit you smiley37on your face 😂

Image

The villain gives weird reasons for not letting Dev to touch Raavi smiley39

Image

Image

Raavi and her comebacks are equally hilarious. She gives this whole gyaan by her Mausapa smiley39

Image

There-she calls him JHALLA smiley39SUBTITLES DONT DO JUSTICE TO THE WORD JHALLA smiley37

Image

And, there she goes again with her Hare Dev Chant smiley37

That's when Shit happens. It would help if you watched the scene to see the similarities of the trios equation in the adult birthday scene as well

Image

The villain is NOT happy 😂 Look at that grumpy billa smiley37

Image

Then he gives those looks to Dev smiley39

Image

HE Is not jhala. She is

Buhahhahahah 🤪

Bachpan ka har Ek Hissa

Teri Ladayi ka Kissa

The unresolved emotional issues and emotional baggage of childhood could be detrimental to the present.

People who cannot leave the childhood pain behind generally look for emotional anchors in their partners to fix them.

For them, adult emotional baggage isn't that important, but childhood is!

The beautifully played song expresses the intent of Raavi to start from the beginning. It is fair on her part to expect a fresh start because in her mind, they have been mortal enemies, and she hasn’t spent an eternity knowing about him for liking him.

Mere Bachpan ke har hisse main tujhse Ladayi ka Kissa hai. Shuru se shuru karne ke liye humein wapas Bacchae banana padega Jo ki ho nahi sakta.

It’s heartening to see Shiva and Ravi both smiling and warming up to each other after an intense turmoil that had hit their life. The birthday dance, the humour and the smiles have left them refreshed.😍

Image

There is Certain innocence in the way he enters the room. There is a certain peace in his eyes and a certain yearning in his heart. Look at the deep hooded eyes.❤️

Image

He’s really happy to see her like this.

Image

Raavi rightfully calls him. Ubalti aag par Boondein pad gayi 🤣

Image

She’s beaming like a rabbit! Very happy After how things have gone. Her happiness is not only because of the entire episode that happened previously. It is certainly because Shiva got new bangles for Mami as well.

Image

Image

She is amazed to see Shiva so willing to smile and in a different zone altogether 🥰

ImageExpressions are hilarious!

😉

There is a beautiful romantic sequence that follows but that deserves a special post. I’m going to only focus on the last two bits.

Post1: Lovely post as usual ❤️

But I wanted to specifically thank you for going into depth about the “Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se” song. I had never heard of it before and did not know if the history you detailed. I was scratching my head trying to figure out the song while seeing the scene. Now, with the context you provided I will enjoy the scene when re-watching.

Let’s hope the makers delve into Shiva’s childhood feelings angle 🤞

Piu, what a lovely post 1!🤗

How well you have explained Shiva's triumph in scaring his chipkali, his uninhibited laughter, his clapping hands, characteristics that are very much part with him. Today we got to see the prankster Shiva yet again after the chudail kaand. You are right about transition not being well executed, but that's ok, we are used to it by now. But I would like to say one thing here about Shiva, as he is the only character who has multiple characteristics that come out appropriately depending on the situation.

I am into old BW songs because of my Dad. I have heard this song countless times in my life and was little surprised whe they played it until I saw the scene. That said, song in itself has a deep meaning and it was used from Raavi's POV where she wants to start this relationship from the beginning on a clean state. This is Raavi talking. She is immature sometimes and in her over excitement doesn't think before what she says. But Shiva on the other hand, even with a tede dimaag 😆understood what she meant but did not agree to it only because of their past. He doesn't want to erase all that memory from his childhood and start afresh. His dialogues were

"shuruat se shuru karne ke liye, bachpan mein jaana padega, aur mere bachpan ke har hisse me na, tujhse ladai ki kisse hain"

I am happy that he outright rejected her. Their childhood is an integral part of their lives and as you said, most of their adulthood issues are deeply rooted in their childhood. In Shiva's case, we have seen it play again, first it was the kangan issue and now this.

Thanks you for taking us back to their childhood with those beautiful caps and the interaction between the three of them. While Raavi considers Shiva the villain, he on the other hand considered Dev to be the villain for constantly supporting Raavi. I would like the makers to delve on this more and bring us Shiva's thoughts and his POV on Raavi. I would also like to know the answers to the questions you posed. Did he enjoy teasing her secretly? Did he get annoyed when he didn’t have attention?

That said, do you think Shiva's this rejection of starting out as strangers and then friends stemmed after seeing Dev-Raavi's interaction earlier that night. I am sure Shiva must have understood from the interaction that Dev wants to continue his childhood friendship with Raavi, but with him she wants to start on a clean state as strangers? Shiva definitely wants something more than a friendship.

Anyway I am happy he rejected it. neither they deserve to start as strangers nor he deserves to be friend zoned😆 and is now looking for more from her, which ofcourse he is not going to disclose to Raavi. It is up to her to figure where they are headed.

I am excited to see the progress in their love towards each other, especially Raavi, who is only physically attracted to him, likes being near him, calls him a hero and knows he is always there to protect her

P.S: I will wait for you to update subsequent posts to comment on them😃
