I am going to take a screen shot of this beautiful and heart rending analysis! May I?
I'm just going to see this scene again and cry a little for my shiva.

This This is exactly what I had in mind yesterday!! Thank you so much for making this post 🤗 This is hands down my favorite scene from this episode!! Dev stole the show for me as well! I couldn’t help but smile and chuckle at their interaction! Personally, I prefer this scene over a half baked apology that attempts to be intense! It was all sorts of warm and beautiful! ❤️
It gave me that feeling of biting into a warm cookie during the holidays surrounded by family or sipping hot cocoa topped with marshmallows while watching a cheesy Christmas movies Like meeting an old friend after ages! You put aside all grievances of why they hurt you in the past or didn’t call in ages! And you give them a genuine smile! Initially it’s awkward but then the warmth creeps in! So so beautiful!
And both Akshay & Alice did such an amazing job!! I was so so impressed by this scene!! Nothing changes the fact that they grew up together and share so many childhood memories!! Dev’s dialogues today reminded me of little Dev’s cute compliment regarding Raavi’s dress! This is pretty high on my list of favorite haveli scenes! ❤️
That’s so beautifully articulated. 🤗Nothing changes the fact that these people grew up together and loved each other like a family. Like you said, certain relationships like warm fuzzy feelings. Nothing in life can change them.
Because I'm sadistic, I'll nominate you for one of the awards 😆 You deserve an award! But don't worry, I won't let you get stuck with a nomination with a terrible second prize... Gaumbi's Angels can worry about that!
I made a separate thread today, folks! Join in!

Now coming to the most crucial and the most exciting part of the episode, the revival and renewal of Dev Shiva Ravi conflict. If you notice during the entire sequence, Shiva’s gaze only lingers at Ravi And not at Dev. His eyes are fixated at her trying to gauge every single reaction from her. He has been a first-hand witness to Raavi’s madness, infatuation or love for Dev.
This is the same woman who was ready to die, hanging from the noose, because she couldn’t get the love of her life. He was the first person who came to know about her unconditional love for Dev for the last 10 years. He was the first man who understood the depth of her feelings and then they were suddenly thrown into this marriage together.
It brings me back to the wedding night when he looked at the gift with the message “I love you Dev “. What could be the condition of a man who just stepped into his brothers shoes and got married to the woman who was left at the altar by his brother? She is the same woman who had spent an eternity in being in love with his brother. That’s a colossal challenge and complexity to carry on your shoulders. She dissed him openly during their wedding night. She warned that this marriage has no future and they could ever be one. Shiva has been pretty much a simple man. The only marital relationship he was privy to was that of Dhara and Gautam. He always knew that a man loves his wife and the wife loves them equally. Isn’t it strange that his wife didn’t want to love him?
Let’s for once forget the hatred and animosity amongst them. Do you think still it’s easy for someone to carry a burden like that?
No matter how much Shiva says otherwise, right from the childhood Raavi mattered to him. Her caustic words used to affect him when she would tag along with Dev and make fun of him. I remember very clearly how upset he was when she called him Jhalla. This was brought to light even during their bus ride to the Haveli where even her minor laughter would irk him.
Alas, he would never be the man she dreamt of. He would never be the man She chose. And, he Feels that he will never be the man Who is worthy of her.
If you go back and watch this particular scene again, you notice that there is no sadness in his eyes. It’s anger mixed with a certain sense of fear and pain. Till date, he hasn’t seen Dev making any slight initiation to talk to Raavi. The moment he speaks and apologises, he sees Raavi melting and forgiving him instantly. Her smile is brimming and he could see the comfort they share. Shiva would never be the man With whom she could share such a comfort. It probably pinches him, it mortally injures his sense of self-worth. It maybe a slight hint of jealousy of not being able to share vibe so comfortable with a life partner. All this and much more is layered in the scene. I think it’s just a boost needed for the conflict of a lifetime to start again. Please do watch the scene and you could Shiva’s chest heaving up snx down with an intense emotion.
They are slowly getting there. They will share the same comfort soon.
If I said what's on my mind
You'd turn and walk away
Disappearing way back in your dreams
It's so hard to be unkind
So easy just to say
That everything is just the way it seems
You look up at me
And somewhere in your mind you see
A man I'll never be
If only I could find a way
I'd feel like I'm the man you believe I am
And it gets harder every day for me
To hide behind this dream you see
A man I'll never be
You look up at me
And somewhere in your mind you see
A man I'll never be
If only I could find a way
I'd feel like I'm the man you believe I am
And it gets harder every day for me
To hide behind this…
But I was not good enough. You should understand this about me—I am not a hero; not one to tap unknown reserves of courage; not one to rise to circumstance. I am the understudy who chokes on his lines when he is forced onto the stage. I am never, ever good enough.Dexter Palmer
A vacant resignation before moving on!
@bold- This is exactly what he feels now but it is going to change gradually. They have a long way to go still. Raavi has already started looking at him through her heart and after this kangan kaand, she is only going to want more from him. We heard her monologue in front of the mirror, "aakhir woh badal raha hai". She can see the change in him but If he feels that he is not able to bring happiness to Raavi, he is going to retreat into a shell.
As we all know Shiva doesn't share much with anybody, again with this insecurity stemming followed by pain and anger, she is going to be confused and but will be determined to find out what's bothering him. He said, after the mango incident that aam aur mirchi ek koi mel nahi hai, jaise tumhare and mere beech mein koi mel nahi hai. Shiva also feels that Raavi thinks of him being a villain. He compared himself to Mogamboa and Shakaal etc.
If we want to see progress in their relationship, introspection and conversation are the only way to go. Raavi will start doing more of that but we have to wait and see if Shiva reciprocates or not.
