It's a chore. Ghar pe it was still okay coz you know parents force feed you even if you have no time. But I live alone right now n when I'm super deep into my work, I get so engrossed that I skip meals. Calls/meetings take up my mornings, so no breakfast n then I straight away have lunch at 5 some times, just because it's easy for me to stay hungry. It's not deliberate but just something that has always been the case.

So whatever weight I manage to put on by exercising and getting on a diet for weeks(yes you do that to gain weight as well) goes down in a matter of a couple of days and I'm back to square one.

The WFH has contributed a lot to this bad habit of mine, atleast when I was going to office and gym, I would have meals with my colleagues so I was following my schedule. But ab toh just getting myself out of this horrible habit is an everyday task. More often than not, lazyness wins.

I can relate to this. There were times when I used to celebrate even a couple of grams of weight increase. The struggle is real. :( If you like bananas, eat them as many as you can. I literally used to each 4-5 bananas everyday- easy and readymade food, and drink milk as much as you can. Of course lifting weights helps too. Good luck!

EDIT: But beware of getting into a habit of eating junk food especially sweets. Focus on building up the strength rather than bulking up.

So glad to see someone relating. Not being able to gain weight is hardly seen as a struggle by most, so those who go through this hardly speak on it. Thanks for sharing ❤️

Oh yes, banana smoothie + oats is my go to breakfast whenever I'm on track.

I'm trying to be less materialistic cuz I have hoarded so many things over the years that I'm starting to wonder if I'm trying to fill some sorta void. It has really gone out of hand, especially with skincare and makeup products. They're all over my dressing table, bathroom, working desk, etc. It's a nightmare especially when I'm traveling cuz my makeup and skincare products take up half the space in my carry-on bags.

  • I am a very miserly person. Like, I over calculate even if I have to spend 10 rupees. I try to avoid giving tips at restaurants. I bargain even from a street vendor. All this and more. It is probably because when I was in school our family had a severe financial crunch for a few years and we had to watch every rupee we were spending. And from then on, I do not spend on anything unless I absolutely have to. This phase continued even after we recovered from our financial state and we were not poor anymore. Now I earn in the six figures but I still do not spend liberally, which my friends seem to do so easily, even if they earn less than I do.
  • I procrastinate. I always do things at the nth hour. This was there from school, and continued to college and now work. Let's say I have to finish a work in 3 days. I always seem to start on the second half of the third day. The worst part is, I manage to finish it and that's what gives me confidence to keep procrastinating everytime. The bad? The anxiety that this gives me.
  • I cannot control my urge to eat sweets and junk food. I mean everyone loves these foods but is wise enough to not overeat right? But I don't know how to stop. I keep eating like there is no tomorrow. Once I finished a whole box of sweets in an hour. I don't know why I am so greedy when it comes to food. And the result? The result is I put on weight and have to go on a crash diet and exercise for months to lose the fat. But I go back to eating after losing weight, and then I do the dieting/exercising again. This keeps happening in phases and I'm so fed up.

These are the top 3 bad habits that I want to get rid of. What are yours?

Do tell me if this helps in the long term:

2. Procrastination: Force yourself to work the 1st day and stress yourself to complete as much as you can. In short complete 70% of work. Next day, force to do work by afternoon lunch time completing 20% work. Next day remaining 10% and then just rechecking time till you submit.

3. Sweets or any habit forming food: Try eating that sweet in quantity one piece. Resist eating more and hide the box you find it lazy to open again. Next day you eat one more. Hide that box again. Gradually, you will feel you no longer need to hide that sweet box or eat more than one piece. This way you can avoid dieting later to decrease weight.

Sorry, but this doesn’t work. Addiction to sweets is literally like addiction to drugs, or so I was told.

I guess we all need that boost from within to stay disciplined. That's why I said gradual decrease of intake will help. Belief that you can do it!

If not 1 piece of sweet, start with 2 or 3 but the next day reduced it by 1 piece.

Not sleeping on time and getting up late. This Euro cup tournament happening right now has made it worse.

Only going cold turkey has ever worked for me. Especially because I don’t put on any weight, it's very hard for me to not stop if I start. Its a dead end basically!

I have 2 very bad habits....First I am dead scared of going to the doctors unless its absolutely necessary.....My husband takes our kids for their well check ups and everything....Its like I step foot in a doctor's office and my BP shoots up...My BP is going up even while writing this...

Second is that I stress over things that have not even happened yet....My husband calls me Chintamani....once something I stress about turns out OK...he is like ..OK Chintamani...what is the next one on your agenda..😆
