To those with sweet cravings - I have a food addiction and that includes obsessing over sweets. It feels like craving for a drug, because self control becomes zero and there are adverse effects on health. I have already put on 30 kgs in just 3 years and added a malfunctioning thyroid on top of it.
Unlike a drug addiction, you cannot avoid food. And there are less ways to cope with it because it’s not looked at seriously by most people. For eg., friends will want to order unhealthy stuff, relatives will force you to eat more, companies will advertise every freaking where 🤷♀️ So I end up having a lot of triggers, like food advertisements, pictures, descriptions of the food I like…🤔 A friend added me on an IF group for foodies recently, and I can’t participate because it will trigger my addiction.
The only thing that is helping me is the 2-3 hour interval eating like Rujuta Diwekar recommended. I get less hungry because I am eating healthy stuff in small portions every couple of hours. It is keeping my cravings under control and I feel more energetic throughout the day. I still have times where I give in to my cravings but it’s improving.
Thought I will write this out because struggling with a food or sweet addiction is not easy, and it helps to know you aren’t alone ❤️
