What is it like to live in India? Is it really like what is shown via ITV and movies? What is your experience of living in India? Would you live in India or move to a different country? Why? Have you been on trips outside of India, how do you find them?

I am debating if I should permanently move to India. I have only visited India for 2 weeks vacations like 4 times in my life. I really enjoyed my time there and the people. I also feel the lifestyle is completely different versus what I have and I would be happier there. What is your lifestyle like in India?

I know differnet regions of India matter. I don't know much about the regions either. any insight would be nice:)

Well if you are mulling for a permanent relocation to India , then hold on . Imo it is not the best time to uproot yourself & migrate here considering many factors including Corona . Wait for a couple years . May be then but I'd suggest to first have a vacation home in India if viable as you can :

- freely live a indigenous life during vacation

- offer it Airbnb way rest of the time

- test waters in context of society polity & economy like whether it suits you overall or not

- if not suit , then dispose it right from your domicile with no great hassles & losses of again uprooting & relocating yourself

In this regard , I'd suggest tourist places like Goa (though one need to be quick regarding it for a good deal , its fast filling up with investment from upscale Indians shooting land prices) . Panchkula / Chandigarh region too is good option . Doon valley as well . There are some states where non-natives cannot purchase freeholds like Himachal .

Do you have any specific region in your mind ? Where did you spend those enjoying vacations ? What are your preferences regarding climate, geography ? Whats your ethnic/cultural background ?

Needless to say , have a network genuine & experienced people ready beforehand especially property dealers, lawyer etc .

Lifestyle depends on how much pocket can offer : one can easily live like a king . Street urchin too .
