Vir comes back and sees what is happening. "Yeh kya ho raha hai yahan", he thunders. Absolutely fuming in rage he takes in everything- the soot on Purvi's face, the garland of money, and finally the bricks in her feet.
On seeing him, Purvi cannot control her tears and breaks down. Vir rushes to her, giving a deathly glare to Sakshi. He tears off the garland from Purvi's neck and throws it down at Sakshi's feet. Then he bends and slowly takes off the bricks tied to Purvi's feet, mindful of not hurting her. Once those are removed, Vir puts his arm around Purvi's shoulders and leads her to a chair. After sitting her down, he gets her a glass of water and then wipes her face clean with his handkerchief. He kneels down near her chair and wipes her tears, "Bas Bawari, bas. Ib rona bandh kar. Main aa gaya hoon na, sab theek kar doonga."
Seeing Vir behave so tenderly with Purvi, sets off Sakshi again. "Mukhiji, yeh aap kya kar rahe hai?", Sakshi asks angrily. Vir turns to face her, his eyes blazing with anger. Vir, "Main ke kar raha hoon? Arre tum log ke kar rahe the? Yo sab ke ho raha tha yahan?"
Sakshi, "Aaj Molkki Diwas hai, hum toh bas pratha nibha rahe the. Aap hi ne toh kal kaha tha na ki gaon ki baaki molkkiyon ki tarah, Purvi ko bhi sab reeti-riwaz maan ne padenge?"
Vir, "Haan kaha tha! Par yo jo tu kar rahi thi na, woh reeti-riwaz na, kupratha hai. Ek aurat ho kar, doosri aurat ke saath tu aaise kaise kar sake hai? Ho kya gaya hai tujhe Sakshi?"
Sakshi, "Hume kuch nahi hua hai Mukhiji. Par aap zaroor badal gayi hai."
Vir loses his cool and shouts, "Haan badal gaya hoon main. Iss Bawari ne badal diya hai manne! Issne aur iske pyaar ne manne badal diya hai!"
Sakshi is shocked. Sakshi, "Iss molkki ke liye ap humse iss tarah chilla ke kaise bat kar sakte hai?"
Vir, "PURVI NAAM HAI USKA. Agar phir kisi ne isse molkki kaha toh mere ta bura koi na hoga. Aur haan...pyaar karta hoon main Bawari ta...bahut pyaar. Aur uske bagair jee nahi sakta."
Vir turns to look at Purvi, she was sitting still, tears streaming down her face. Vir's heart shattered into pieces, seeing his Bawari so broken. He knew he was responsible for her condition. But not any longer, he vowed. He loved his Bawari with all his heart and could not see her suffer any longer.
Vir walks up to Purvi. He folds his hands before her and says, "Manne maaf karde Bawari. Aaj phir ek baar, meri wajah se tanne itni zillat, itni takleef sehni padi. Har baar mere karan tera dil dukhta hai...har baar main sochta hoon ki phir kabhi tujhe koi pareshani na hone doonga par har baar apna waada nahi nibha pata. Par ib aur na. Iss baar main tanne tera haq, tera samman, tera pyaar...sab de kar rahoonga!"
Vir holds Purvi's hand and pulls her up. She looks at Vir questioningly, he just nods his head, asking her to trust him. Vir looks around the room and sees the temple in the corner. He holds Purvi's hand firmly and walks to the temple.
Sakshi n Prakashi call out to him, asking what he was doing but Vir ignores both of them. He stopped before the temple and turned Purvi to face him. Vir looked into her eyes, the pain and humiliation of today's events was still clearly visible in her eyes, but deeper than that was the love she held for him. That was all the assurance he needed.
Vir took the sindoor from the temple and filled Purvi's maang. Everyone, including Purvi, was stunned. Vir, "Aaj se tu molkki na, meri patni hai... meri ardhangini. Aur aaj se tujhe woh saare haq milenge jo Virendra Pratap Singh ki suhaagan ko milne chahiye."
Purvi looked at Vir, tears of love and gratitude flowing freely from her eyes. Vir, "Ib toh yo rona bandh kar, chakarghanni, aur ek baar muskurade mere liye." Purvi smiled as Vir pulled her closer and they walked past everyone, ready to begin a new life together!
