Anokhi was fidgeting her fingers, with a continuous nervousness driving her mind crazy. A bundle of notes surrounded her, as she sat on her sofa in a messy bun, preparing for her debate competition, that happened to be the next day. A familiar pair of arms lingered over her and a soft smile appeared on her face.

"Anokhi, what happened? Why are you so tensed. You always ace the debate competitions. Stop taking unnecessary stress. Otherwise your performance will be affected." Shaurya moved on the couch and sat beside her.

"It's nothing. Just that whenever I perp myself for such debates on women empowerment, I often reminisce how the males of my own house were the biggest hindrances in my growth. How their patriarchal minds used to target me, until I ultimately left that place, only to fulfill my dreams, here in Chandigarh."

She heaved a sigh, memorising the aching instances that she, and every girl, who dares to have dream in a misogynistic world faces.

Shaurya grew concerned seeing her like that.

"Anokhi, you have left those memories beyond. You have proved yourself now. You have changed a mind like me." He chuckled slightly, remembering the foolish jerk he once used to be and, how he has changed now.

"PS, remember the day we got stuck in the rain. You told me how vulnerable your childhood was, and how it still hurts you to the core. My condition is not a better one, PS.

I have seen my father ruthlessly beat me and my mother. The scars may have disappeared physically, but deep down, they are still there. My own grandmother used to shame me. I was being forced to marry a man whose ideology was even worse.

Until. Until, I ran away. I came away, to live my life, and prove my stance.

But still what PS. Why do women like me need to give up their families to live their dreams. And there are gazillions of women, who unlike me, are not able to break away from the misogynistic minds, their own people who prove to be the biggest shackles of their lives.

Why are we harassed till date? Why are we named out as 'loose characters' till date PS? Why? Why?!"

Anokhi was in a pool of tears by now. Her voice soon turned into loud sobs and she did not know what to speak futher.

Saying shaurya was dumb stuck at her relevation would be an understatement. He closed his eyes, remembering how, out of a mere jealousy, he shamed Anokhi in the library. She may have forgotten her, which eventually led to his change, but he still could not forgive himself.

He had revealed his pain to her, but he had never thought that she had gone through such harsh times, and was even a victim of abuse.

He wrapped a sobbing Anokhi in her arms, and placed his head over her chin, constantly rubbing her back, as they both cried their eyes out.

Anokhi pacified by his contant pats on her back and tried to broke the hug but he wouldn't let her go, because with her, he was trying to pacify his own rushing heart. Anokhi understood his situation and snuggled to him closer. After a long time he let her go, and faced her, cupping her small face in his hands.

"Anokhi....I never knew you... I am sorry.... I don't know what to say....I can't even imagine...." He fell short of words.

Anokhi wiped his tears away with her thumbs and nodded sideways, signalling him to stop. "You don't have to be sorry PS. You have changed, and that is enough for me. I love you. I don't know why, but I just blurted those memories today, because it still hurts a lot. But now atleast I have somebody by my side, always and forever, and I'm grateful to have found you." She smiled at the last words, and his lips curved on their own, seeing her smiling finally.

He embraced her again, not loosing eye contact for a second, as she looked at him intently, her head on his chest.

"You know Anokhi. I can't erase your memories, but I promise to be the man you deserve. I assure you that you will never suffer those hardships again, ever. And I know that women like you will remove misogyny completely from this society, one day. You are the true spirit of feminism. Thankyou for making me Anokhi. Iove you." He lovingly placed a peck on her hair, as she snuggled closer to him, and they both smiled with content.

"Now let's sleep. I want you to win the competition tomorrow and for that adequate sleep is important, isn't it?"

He winked at her at he carried her in his arms, and placed her on the bed, and shifter to her side, and enveloped her in his arms, assuring his mind that she belongs to him. She placed a peck on his cheek, and they both drifted into a peaceful slumber, knowing that a better life has begun for both of them.

The next day was a very special won. Anokhi Bhalla had won the debate competition and Shaurya couldn't help but beam with pride, as he congratulated his wife and told her that she came, she saw, and she conquered.

I see you're a newbie. I also had problems posting my work here when I was one. It always said "spam content not allowed" even though I couldn't find anything in what I wrote that would be considered as a spam content. lol. If that is the problem you're facing, you should try posting the OS in parts. post small portions of it in different parts continuously. That way you can post your OS and your number of posts will also increase which will help in making you a groupbie soon. Then there's no problem in posting long works in a single post.

If you are set on posting it in one single post then you'll probably have to wait to become a groupbie. Make as many small posts as you like. the limit is i think 10 a day. Even replies in other topics count as posts so maybe that'll help. I don't know much about the forum and I still am relatively new, but these things have helped me so maybe they'll help you too.

Has my heart 💛

The pain Anokhi had to go through within her own house, how her own brother & father & even being a woman her grandmother made her helpless in many situations by forcing their decisions on her, specially her marriage, how her mother & sister finally took a stand for her. These are bitter memories which she came across & how she succeeded in achieving her dreams is pure bliss.

There are such woman in this world who has to go through the same burden evey day. We can just hope they will be able to break the norms & barriers & emergency through

Nicely written! 😊
