Maine uss din bola tha na gujarati mai samdhan ko sirf first name se nahi bulate hai.Samdhan name+ben . Mere sab relatives apni samdhan ko first name + ben se he bulate hai so anupama says Rakhi Ben.

Ben is aunty type word. Usually young women doesn't like it with their name ,middle age ladies uses it for each other.

Rakhi is shown to be more forward. For whom the word ben is an aunty type words. She believes that Ben bulane se low class feel hota hai. Par Anupama respect se Ben bulati hai

Ben kab bulaate hai...

1) When a servant addresses the master

2) When you dont know someone. Means you means meet a stranger 35 year above lady and how you address her. You dont know

3) Some rickshawalas also calls us Ben. We are unrelated that's why

4) Jo insaan ko aap kam jaante ho, respect dikhana padta hai. Issiliye Ben lagate hai

4) When you have to respect people. Jaise Nanand Bhabhi ke rishte mein. How Anupama calls Dollyben. My 12 Bhabhi address me as Koshaben (Yeh hamara riwaaz hai, even though I am young) At some places Nanand Bhabhi ko Ben nahi bulaate agar Nanand chhoti hai to. Naam se hi bulaate hai

5) Now Samdhans also addresses as Ben. But Rakhi addresses Anupama as Mrs. Shah. Which is acceptable. If she calls her Anupama then its not acceptable. It depends on how your habit is. But usually Samdhans addresses as Ben as a matter of respect.

6) Now coming to Kavya and Anupama. Now both of them were friends earlier. Though it was false but they were. Now from the beginning they address each other with their names only. Ben word respect aur strangers ke liye zyada use hota. Ab kisi ko pehle se hi naam se bula rahe ho aap, to Ben word nahi nikalta muh se. Same is with Anupama and Kavya. Used to hai naam lene se isiliye ben nikalega hi nahi.

Anupama zyada respect ke liye use Karti hai Ben shabda. Generally girls like us dont like to the word Ben behind our name. But I am used to it because of Bhabhis. Par jaise jiski aadat ho, perceptions ho, rishton ki closeness ho waise woh ben use karte hai. Gujarati NRI dont use the word Ben as they are used to taking names in their place.
