I don't mind Kanos being given the captaincy, but have to feel a bit for Warner. This looks more like an ego issue between Warner and management (like the part about Pandey being dropped) and that's disappointing, especially taking into account how much Warner has given to this franchise. For the last few years, he's almost single handedly carried their batting and dragged them into the playoffs every single time.

2014 - 528 runs (4th most runs in the tournament)

2015 - 562 runs (orange cap)

2016 - 848 runs (2nd most)

2017 - 641 runs (orange cap)

2019 - 692 runs in 12 inn. (orange cap)

2020 - 548 runs (3rd most runs)

Also, Warner (at least to me) looks like one of those foreign folks that's really immersed themselves into the IPL and the culture of the country as a whole and gives nothing less than 110%. Unlike some of his other countrymen, who treat it purely as a business assignment and nothing else and perform poorly as well. Which is why this hurts me a little more 😔

I did not think it can get this serious.

I don't think Warner will have a problem playing under Williamson. If they drop Warner, they will lose a good batsman.
