Once you sign a contract, usually that's that. IMHO, Karthik was being greedy and unprofessional. Also, it's not as if he's a great actor.

I understand that it doesn't feel right to be paid less than you're worth. I understand the desire to negotiate for more. But there are professional ways around it. If you believe you are on your way to become big - you could add riders in your contract that increase your salary if you deliver a certain number of hits. Another option is to negotiate for a share of the profits. This is a lower risk to filmmakers because it doesn't suddenly increase the budgeted cost of making the film. It doesn't tie them to a high amount, especially in case of a loss. It invests the actor to the success of the film.

I wholeheartedly agree with you! Karthik was lucky enough to catch Karan's fancy (I'm not talking sex or anything lol) just like Vicky or Fawad before. He made Karthik in and it gave the latter opportunities to be considered in bigger projects.

Karan has the means to make an actor reach new heights especially when he likes them. One can just see how he created Alia despite her many deficiencies.

Karthik shouldn't have gotten pissy imo. He should have been more assertive here as Karan for all his flaws can be fair.

One can remember how he took Villain for Sidharth when it was supposed to be Arjun movie but he made up for it and gave him 2 States.

Karthik should try and mend his relationship with Karan. I think he can salvage the relationship because Karan doesn't seem to hold grudges for long.

Karthik won't be getting first picks but Karan might still call him up if they need an actor in a haste.
