"Malini's entire world is crumbling down." = Such a sad statement this is by itself. Her whole world is Aditya and her marriage. Nothing and no one else exists in her world.
The issue is not that I do not understand her mental condition, the issue is that the whole story is currently existing only around her emotional state. It is you and I who see her as having serious mental issues. But will any of the characters in the show be shown as acknowledging that Malini has serious issues if she decided to commit suicide in her bridal outfit 1 day after leaving her sasural, the decision which was made by her even though the whole family was begging her to stay. She left her sasural because she wanted Aditya to stop her. She did not leave because she was feeling ghootan there. This is manipulation. So 1 day before she decides to commit suicide, she is okay with manipulating people. And let's not forget the sindoor drama she caused. She literally traumatized Imlie with her behavior. She demeaned Imlie to such an extent that Imlie could not find it in herself to feel an ounce of happiness about her first day of college or the award, about her dreams coming true.
Anyways, just that morning she connected some of the dots. But did she think to confront about it. It is obvious the issue in her marriage has been building up for months. So now she is losing it is understandable. But 2 days ago she was planning to fight for it (the temple scene). Then next day, she sees sindoor on Imlie's forehead and completely loses it, decides to take a break and leave the family all in one day. Aditya called her within 24 hours of leaving the house and told her he wanted to speak with her. Did she wait to hear his side of the story. No, she rather kill herself than face a second of the truth.
And just because she is going through pain, all her actions are forgiven. Disrespecting Tripatis, insulting Imlie, leaving house all is okay just because her marriage is breaking apart.
What you have written will obviously want you and me to sympathize with the character but that is not how the character is shown. The character is shown to manipulate, be selfish, and gutless. And all that is still okay if the writers show how serious someone wanting to commit suicide is. If they concentrate on Malini's healing. But if they reward her for her actions by making everyone cater to her wishes, it will be very disappointing.
Excellent said. Glorifying what she is doing should stop.
