Oooh! Loving this topic of comebacks. She has been doing that forever, right? My favorite is the one where she makes roti for Malini, when she was on x number of bhookhadtal! Adi is trying to turn on the stove and can't. Imlie is like "aapko kuch khana hai toh bata dijiye hum bana dete hain"..and he is being a snob! Loved her dialogue " Isko kya fir ji jalane khatir laga rahe hain". Imlie had me at that! I was like this girl just heard an earful and still does not loose her presence of mind! And right after that he is like "tum banaogi Malini ke liye.." and she again comes back, "nahi bargad ki ped ki chudail ke liye, ab unko khana hai toh unke liye hi banayege!" and Adi's face! I was like Attagirl!

Considering the moti roti bit was brought up yesterday, I went back and watched the episode where Aditya finds out it was Imlie who made them. Imlie ne toh tabhi raub jamaa ke use bol bhi diya I will cook you cut cucumbers and tomatoes 😆 And he meekly went about doing it too. He has been only her husband really from the beginning 😆

Didi’s dialogues after that were hilarious. She actually gave a bhaashan on how a big family, all together under one roof, was more precious than finding them prancing around under the influence of bhaang. Bade family se toh baar baar bhaag jaati hai

Those beginning episodes have so many indicators - she cloaked her suspicions under the guise of goodness of her heart; all the while positioning herself exactly opposite to Aditya.

Bringing Malini back and expecting Adi to play loving husband to her again will just be another attempt at kicking the can down the road.....Adi will still not be able to give her what she wants, she will still keep whining/crying over the same stuff, everyone will still keep guilting him/demanding that he love Malini....and his heart will still only beat for Imlie😆....

Imlie ki kasam ka track record hum log dekh chuke hain😆.......but yeah all I think they can manage is to force Adi to take Malini out for dinner/dates and stuff like that.....lol....us sab se bhi kuch badlega nahin but they will all still keep forcing him....chalo kar lein try😆

@bold - How can you say that????!! Woh toh yeh sab kar rahi hai taaki use haq mile. Woh haq jo Aditya dega use ab 🤣 After saying “ghutan hoti hai”, yehi baaki reh gaya hai abhi 😆

Haq nahin woh pani puri ho jo pass the parcel mein kahin phas chuka hai

And Malini didi supposedly felt so bad that she didn't even know how to go in front of Imlie to apologize so she "sent" Adi to Imile instead?😆.....Back then I'd thought it was just serendipity that Adi was meant to go talk to Imlie then and Malini became the instrument to send him....but now I'm reflecting further and realizing that Malini had a great opening there to directly apologize to Imlie for her mother's misbehavior, for saying such a horrible demeaning thing to Imlie.....yet she didn't. I now find it even harder to believe her claim that it was cuz she was feeling too ashamed of her mom's actions.....nope, the real truth all along has been that she never felt the regret sincerely enough to give Imlie her due regard/respect.....all Malini could ever manage was token angry retorts to her Mom and "ordering" Imlie to keep the gold chain.....when it came to actually apologizing to Imlie and propping up her self-worth, then suddenly Malini didi ki "shame" came in between? Oh please. The elitism has always been there, along with ready easy excuses to get out of actually giving Imlie the respect she deserves as a human being, not some meherbaani done to a "servant".

So too bad for Malini that Adi ended up using that opportunity to apologize for his own misbehavior with Imlie and actually uplifted Imlie's worth to a whole other extent by inviting her into his room. Malini has never made any actual efforts to lift Imlie's worth....she's been all talk for appearance sake. It's now more clear than ever.

Re: the lunar/solar comparison....lol it also feels ironic to me that the Moon is so romanticized in poetry/fiction otherwise but it's a cold/barren place in actuality.....while the sun is literally the source of light/life itself in many ways.

Waise this reminds me again ki Aditya means "sun" but Imlie somehow is the solar source that Didi seems to appropriate light from more instead😆

Yup I recall that scene very well...I also feel the same way re. Malini in light of the recent epis. She did some great Oscar worthy acting though when she was standing back watching Imlie crying lamenting about the fact that she was insulted even when she did nothing wrong.

This is why I found it hilarious when she compared Adi's misbehaviour with her. Although Adi's mis-behaviour seemed outwardly harsh & mean, there was always an underlying care for Imlie. Since the start, he always uplifted Imlie's worth including vouching for her not being a thief to his family, putting his life on the line to save her from kidnappers and from Didi's flashbacks, making haldi doodh for her. As you and Lodestar discussed, Malini's 'kindness' wasn't genuine, she was always using it as a leverage point for control.

Forget Imlie, she never apologised to her in-laws or even Adi about her mom's continuous mis-behaviour.🤔 All she could manage there was token angry retorts to her Mom also, that too in front of everyone, to show her greatness. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only time I've seen her apologise for her Mom's misbehaviour privately was in one of the initial epis when Adi-Malini go to her house and Mrs C was annoyed cuz Adi's bike noise woke her up from her nap.😛 I've never seen her directly apologise to her in-laws once for her Mom's misbehaviour lol. So to me it seems that her elitism extends to Ts' and Adi as well, maybe she dialled down her 'meherbaani' with them because they are one class lower than her, whereas Imlie is a village girl.😛

Re sun/moon: Moon has a lot of DAAG as well HAHA.😆 Apologies for the bad joke!😛

LMAO@ Moon also has lots of DAAGS🤣....Totally fits this situation waali Moon too....so much for 'bedaag trust' ki duhaayi.....lol

@bold: Exactly....Adi said a lot of harsh/mean things to Imlie in that phase but when it counted, he always watched out for her and never let any outsider trample on her self-worth....and the underlying care was visible in many gestures. But then wohi baat ho gayi that he was judged for his words more than his actions....his harsh exterior was all everyone saw without noticing how he didn't consider Imlie inferior in any way unlike others who were using kind words but actually considering Imlie inferior.

LOL I don't recall his bike noise wala scene actually but Malini's "apologies" on behalf of her mother have always been token in nature and more about how it's causing HER embarrassment rather than any hurt/pain of the person who's at the receiving end of her mom's humiliations and taunts. As you said, Imlie toh chhodo, she barely stood up for Adi and the Ts in front of her mom.....lol but yeah she didn't show that level of obvious elitism in their case cuz they weren't as significantly lower on the social scale as Imlie in her eyes.

Arre wohi toh am.saying since day 1 I found it so.odd how after every beizzati she would be ready to invite her gharwale in an instant the very next moment jahan unki koi need hoti bhi nahi thi like imlie ka bday...what do they have to do at your "naukrani" ka bday. She continued inviting them over and over so bechare tripathis insult hote rahein and they couldn't directly refuse ke kya roz ka tamsha hai when they were seriously done too with roz roz ke tamshe.. any woman with thoda sa ehsaas would be like no need to invite them everyday caz they ruin sabka mood but nahi yeh didi and unke ghar walon ki fitrat hai har kisi ki khushi khrab karna kaise bhi and for being not high enough to fit their standards

If there is one thing about Aditya's character that the writers have kept consistent is his honesty in portraying his emotions, whether his decisions based on those emotions were right or wrong, that is a separate matter. But he was always honest with his emotions. And the only person to whom he showed his real emotions to is Imlie. He landed up hurting Imlie a lot because of that but he did not hide whatever he was feeling from Imlie, ever. That is why, if writers keep his character consistent, there is no way to fit Malini back in his life. This was clear from the moment he realized his true feelings for Imlie. Even after leaving Imlie in PD, he tried for a day or two to be with Malini but he just could not. And when he told Imlie that he tried being Malini's husband, it is not only about coming back from PD trip 3, it is also the period between PD trip 2 and 3. He tried being the man for Malini but he just could not stop caring and growing more feelings for Imlie.

For 140 episodes, what Aditya has been feeling, whether it is happiness, guilt, denial, anger, love....it has been very clear to the audience. And Aditya has only taken actions based on what he thought he was feeling at that time. Even marrying Malini was because he felt obligated, was in denial about his 1st marriage, but still on the day of the marriage, he knew he was hesitating but then his father came and talked to him and he decided to go again destiny. And not in one of his marriage ceremonies was he really happy. But he still went ahead with marriage because at that time he thought he was doing the right thing. And he tried to be loyal to Malini. But when he realized his true feelings, he could not fake loyalty with Malini. That is just not him. He will face punishment, he will face hatred from his family, he will even accept if Imlie wants to get separated from him for hurting Malini, but he still would not be able to fake it with Malini. That is how honest Aditya is with his emotions. So let's see how he handles Malini's suicide drama.

The thing is not even his love for Imlie can force him to be with Malini. He tried for few days but failed. He will not try again, not even for Imlie.

Another instance where Malini had no idea how to deal with him. She only ever saw his reactions, but never knew the cause.
