What is hilarious is Adi himself always told Imlie that rishta is illegal, he doesn't accept it, etc. but whenever Imlie would act in way or say something like she is also not happy about their marriage then he would get angry & become extra rude to her😆. Matlab khud Baar baar Imlie ko dikhata tha that he is unhappy about their marriage but if Imlie did the same thing then he would get angry🤣. Ego hurt hota tha BS ka ki Imlie bhi shaadi se khush nahi hai😆.

"Aap Humhe apke dil se nikal liya" what non sense didi was never in his heart . Then How will he throw her out. It was vacant and Imlie made her home there😆

I just remembered he said hum sirf aap se pyar karte hai last time. What is there to stress sirf aap se😆. He was convincing himself he only loved Malini .

Absolutely. That is the conclusion I'm also reaching as I now revisit older Malini scenes in light of her recent behavior. There was always an element of control associated with the "kindness" she bestowed on Imlie also....otherwise it makes no sense that she went from being instantly suspicious of Imlie to suddenly singing her praises so much over a few incidents.....lol. Again, this is Malini we're talking about and we all know how far her brain "capacity" extends so we will never get a clear answer for how much she did deliberately and how much subconsciously.....but we can now see her patterns regarding control much more clearly.

With Adi also, even as she played the part of the "delicate flower" that was "patiently" waiting for him for 7 years, there was a clear element of control using guilt that she used to keep him feeling beholden to her....she knew she could always count on that guilt to tie him to her.....that is why the endless phone calls also never seemed to raise any red flags for Adi cuz she managed to keep cloaking it in her "love" and "worry" for him😆....hence increasing his guilt that he must reciprocate by giving her the gift of marriage.

With Imlie, to me it now seems that Malini applied the "keep your enemies closer" approach.....lol she could never fully get a sense of what Adi-Imlie's equation was so she tried to control it on her own terms.....initially as you said by setting up the contrast of assigning herself the role of "protector" for Imlie against Adi....that helped her play both sides....continuing to guilt trip Adi for being a boor to Imlie while also making Imlie feel that Malini is her only savior who speaks to her kindly😆. This ties into the kurta incident example you've given as well....Malini makes it appear as if she's just innocently blurting out or pointing out things but there is an edge to the things she says if you start seeing her patterns.....like with Adi as you said, she pointed out that he never got gifts on his own for her before so that instantly made Adi conscious and he passed the kurta to Malini to give to Imlie.....and with Imlie also she made sure to point out how Adi supposedly now likes Imlie toh that set Imlie on edge too and guilt tripped her into retreating.

Malini is a classic example of an utter coward who will play victim even as she manipulates people into the assigned slots that she has decided for them.....that is what she is currently doing with Adi-Imlie too.

Her plans may just have worked out for her but Adi is a huge wildcard constantly upsetting her plans and no longer giving her the responses she had come to count on to keep him in his place😆.....She's all about maintaining appearances and she seems to think Adi is too.....she's going to learn the hard way how dead wrong she is about that.😆....the more she tries to tighten those screws, the more he will rebel in the long run.

And then Didi will also realize that there no matter how smart of a manipulator she considers herself, she can't out-manipulate Kismat itself😆.

I just remembered that scene where Aditya-imlie are on their way to PD second time, and they stop midway. Imlie comes out with red Saree and sindoor as they are heading to PD, and he started blasting her for forgetting Mangal sutra and then wearing sindoor. I loved how Imlie replied back that wearing this sindoor is not a happy occasion for her, she just has to wear it so he does not have to give any answers in PD, just like she removed it in city so he does not have to give any answers there. I was like go Imlie, give it back to him for all the crap he just told you, I was in full cheer mode for Imlie. 👍🏼😆

Aditya really stood no chance against Imlie. She always gave him back tenfold. Once she was done giving him back, he could never counter argue and imlie always walked away with head held high. This show is so layered man. Now that we know how Dementor Didi operates every previous scene takes on a new meaning on rewatch.

I agree with you that the problem that Dementor Didi is currently facing is that Adi is not responding to her tactics as established over the years. Hence she feels a loss of control and has zoned in on Imlie as the cause of Adi's detracting behaviour. So now she is trying various tactics to re-establish the control on Adi. What she is failing to understand is now Adi is becoming more wiser to her manipulative tactics which is eroding whatever friendship and respect he has for her.

I am a big pankha of Imlie's comebacks. She is never rude & always speaks seedhi baat no bakwaas. Adi never manages to give reply to her after her comebacks because he himself agrees to her pov & cannot refute the truth of her words😆.

My fav. one is rishta khatam baat khatam in the bus while Adi was trying to stop her from leaving.

I'm still not fully sure if Adi has become wiser to her manipulative tactics or he's basically stopped giving a damn🤣.....my money is on the latter. Especially cuz he still keeps trying to say Malini ki koi galti nahin, sab meri galti hai....lol he still blames himself alone for not realizing that he never loved her...I doubt he's realized that Malini also put up a facade to haan mein haan milaao with him simply to keep the relationship going for convenience.

Adi ka funda is like - I'll give a damn if I care.....otherwise mujhse koi kuch na expect kare😆. Extra problem for Didi right now is ki Adi has discovered his potential to love and care for someone beyond any previous capacity he thought he had😆....and it's all for Imlie alone. He is unable to bring himself to entertain Didi ke lame tactics even out of token indulgence.....cuz he just can't bring himself to CARE....lol

Didi ne galat banda pakda hai to implement this control plan of hers.....lol that is what she will also learn the hard way in the long run😆

+1....I feel the same.... Adi will still not be able to manage anything beyond token care/concern for Malini....sab log usko jitna marzi milkar force kar lein....he will readily admit that he feels guilty over Malini feeling hurt....guilt usko jitna marzi feel kara lein sab but no one can force care/love out of him that he simply doesn't feel....*shrugs*

Bringing Malini back and expecting Adi to play loving husband to her again will just be another attempt at kicking the can down the road.....Adi will still not be able to give her what she wants, she will still keep whining/crying over the same stuff, everyone will still keep guilting him/demanding that he love Malini....and his heart will still only beat for Imlie😆....

Haan karwa lein apni chop yeh bhi karke dekh lein.. didi in only going to go on a rampage against poor girl in loneliness like akele main karegi vaars on her. Who knows given how she actively identifies her as target she might start usual vamps wale hurt the girl tactics too all backfiring on her haha
