I think it is wrt her insecurities that Shaurya and Shagun are a better match. His family also believes her to be his true love. She is giving up for she feels she is no match to Shagun.

When you love someone truly, you set them free. That is what she did.

So the sad smile says, I give up, you stay happy and move on.

Shaurya Sir is to create distance again in their equation.

That is my opinion/ wishful thinking.

I dint think that way, she is sad and letting go her love .....

She is giving up on him so that he can get the best (According to Anokhi).
