I was reflecting on the scene in which Pallavi is getting the silent treatment from Baba and Kaku (not very classy, fellows!)---and she said, (paraphrasing), "I've been accustomed to being maligned by the world outside and it was endurable because I knew that I could come home to this sanctuary where I was comforted and sheltered and respected."
Even Aayi and Mansi who are Pallavi's twin towers of support were quiet. Aayi spoke movingly after but initially nobody spoke up for her.
And it occurred to me that if I was a writer on MHRW and I'm looking ahead to an intense hate-marriage track, this is exactly what I would do.
I would have my heroine alienated from all her usual supports. I would make her believe that she has disappointed all those she loves. And THEN I would create a situation in which the only way to restore her family's happiness and her reputation is to marry a man whom she despises and who despises her Raghav.
So yes---Pallavi is not conducting herself in the manner we want to see at the moment, but it is being done for the story that will come ahead.
Sometimes character has to be (temporarily) sacrificed upon the altar of the next track :-)
👍 they want Pallavi to be shred from all sides and deprived of her support and with that emptiness of losing everything comes the severity of hatred which is what she is bringing into Raghav’s life. Your analysis has really emphasised the ‘I hate you’ and ruin you. By ruining Pallavi’s character in this track, the promo seems to be justifiable. Let’s see how it goes.
