What's the whole thing between pyaar and emotion sickness? How is she differentiating between them or is she not? Didn't she tell Prakash that BBSB loves her, but then why is she saying emotion sickness now again for his majnu behavior?

This is confusing me now

Lol emotion sickness is Imlie’s phrase for feeling strange things. Love is an overall encompassing emotion in her eyes and she knows her and Adi love each other.

What we are being shown is both of them discovering the various shades of love together. The love is an established fact between them now - they are both people who view things in absolutes. So now they both know it’s love, but they are still yet to fully know the scope of that love coz they’ve both never been in love before 😆. And that’s what they are kind of learning together.

It’s something notably different from how love stories are usually navigated on ITV, so I’m enjoying that freshness. For them, it’s not about the standard nature of a “love realization” or “confession” or “romance”. They just flow with the emotions they are experiencing as they happen....without getting hung up on labels.

THIS..it's more about ehsaas of that ouar qnd how far that can take you how it can make you do things and sets you free.. it is in the haav bhaav in their chaal in their actions, spilling from their eyes in the things they do for each other then the grand declarations... she still calls it emotion sickness for lack of a better term because she doesn't know all these new feelings all the bechaini the need to linger a bit longer feeling that overwhelming emotions.. are part and parcel of that love and iske side effects hain..

Didn’t get a chance to say this earlier but I think part of the reason they kept Adi separate from the whole crowd and reflecting about various things to himself was also cuz he had been focused until that point on just getting Imlie back to the house. Only after seeing her back in the house was he again grappling with the complexities of the problem he’s in. That’s why he was watching them all one by one and reflecting about their part in all this - Dev, Malini, Imlie.

Oh and another funny scene was AC pointing out to Malini that Adi didn’t bother coming to talk to her to make her feel good. 😆....isi obligatory feel good ke basis pe 7 years ka delusion chala hai. Ab nahin ho paa raha Adi se yeh facade to do token feel good when that will just drag on the delusion.

Agree on bold - the makers have done a great job in showing such sensitivities and I am sure they will do something similar with now Imlie back in the house. It will be interesting to see how they manage Malini’s behavior in all of these.. will she restrict Imlie from entering the room now? It is a sensitive situation but I am sure makers will handle it well.

Wow kudos to how you put this! I do really like this way of looking at it, and hope the CVs maintain that sensitivity.

Although, I feel like that promo might be a real scene we get. So we may get confession scenes, I think also cuz BBSB wants to say it and hear it from her. Just get that confirmation and reassurance that she loves him, and wants to be with him. Do you think he gets that she loves him, or for him it's less clear?

Word.....I actually find it fascinating how they've managed to balance her innocence and her faith. The faith brings confidence in her beliefs and her understanding of things that she may not even know the full scope of. For example, let's look at the fact that she knew Adi was about to confess his love to her and stopped him before he could say it....it reflected that duality, that paradox of what Imlie is. She understands him even when she doesn't fully understand the scope of his emotions. It's a very instinctual emotion between them.....that is the one keyword to understand Adi-Imlie's relationship....it functions on an instinctual connect.

To Imlie, he became the only man she can ever imagine herself with because he's her husband....the school of thought that she belongs to, that she grew up in....you don't separate love from marriage.....marriage automatically means that's who you love.....which is why no one ever went around asking Imlie IF she loves Adi....that's sort of been a given - baked into the story since she's maintained consistently that he will always be her husband in her eyes. So while she recognizes love as an emotion, she doesn't yet fully understand the range of it in a romantic context.

For Adi, he came at it from the perspective that friendship, ease and convenience is love....only to realize now that he got it wrong too before he discovered it with Imlie....and he's realizing this is love precisely because of the intensity of what this emotion is....when your heart is so connected to someone that you can't bear being without them for a moment.

That's where they both are right now....Imlie having always been devoted to him but now feeling a spike in the whirlwhind of emotions inside her that this feeling brings....and Adi discovering this intense emotion for someone for the first time in his life....they both feel it, they both recognize that something this intense can only be labeled love....but they are still navigating the surprising intensity and helplessness it is bringing out in them😆.

What makes it beautiful is that they don't need to keep labeling it love every 2 seconds for the fact to come through that it is love.....yes, there can be confessions, realizations....but at the end of the day, above all else, they flow with the emotions as they feel them....that's the beautiful part.

I don't know if Malini will restrict Imlie from entering the room, but yes, I think she will read something excessive into every Adi-Imlie interaction now....no matter how chaste it may be.....even if all they are doing is talking while standing 6 feet apart😆.

The thing is, Adi-Imlie's body language now has that natural sense of intimacy without even being in close proximity with each other.....unki aakhon mein, unki smiles mein dikh jaata hai that connect between them. Bas baatein karte huye hi unke beech ka emotion has so much intensity😆.....we as the audience can feel the closeness between them even if they are barely holding hands.....I marvel at it almost everyday😆

Firstly, someone probably already mentioned it but I love how pious the Adi-Imlie equation is, in spite of their intensity of their feelings for each other. Dono ek dusre ke saath bilkul bachche ban jaate hai. *pulls their cheeks*❤️ On an unrelated note, after Nishant left, perhaps Adi felt obligated to grow up too fast and the carefree facet of Adi got left behind. This partly explains why he felt an instinctive ease with innocent & childlike Imlie his first time in PD. It would be interesting if they addressed this in the show going forward. Anyway, I digress.😆

Here goes my gush session.😆 I’m going to gush about both the holi door scene and yesterday’s chase scene.

Firstly, on the door scene. Did you guys notice Babusahib kitne sur aur taal ke saath gaana gaa rahe the.😆It was beautiful how Adi’s feelings for Imlie transmuted (not sure if this the right word) into sur & elevated his quality of singing.❤️ Woh kehte hai na, sacche pyaar ka noor was reflecting on their faces and in their voices too. And their beaming smiles, ahhh. Leaning into each other...and in the spur of the moment how Adi put colour on her. It was also so spontaneous and natural, they had no hosh of their surroundings at all. Just beh gaye without feeling an inch of remorse or guilt, because they both are so saaf dil. I like that their guilt re Malini doesn’t impede their comfort level & affection for each other. They are both clear in their minds that there is nothing wrong in their affection for each other as husband and wife, they just don’t want to hurt a third person in the process.

Secondly, on the chase scene. Please bear with me if the following is repetitive, I just have to gush.😆 How DREAMY & ETHEREAL was this, woowww. Pehle toh the lighting created this perfect ambience. Then these two victims of emotion sickness running around completely uninhibited, without any awareness of place or circumstance. 😆 Nothing could be a greater expression of the ability of love to set you free. Make you want to RELISH life by savouring carefree moments with your beloved. It was also so cute how they were trying l to prolong their time with each other, hahah. Babusahib DID NOT want to leave his Jhalli, and Imlie obliged him with this prank. And he just loved it.❤️ As you said, he just lives for the thrill of chasing his Jhalli. Warna toh usski zindagi jhand hai.😆

I’m glad we’re getting such lovely scenes in the midst of the Malini related drama, I’m a satisfied viewer. :)

@bold: WORD. This exactly is what I'm also loving about the depiction of the emotions so far....that's what saves it from being a typical one-note guilt or sacrifice story.....yes the guilt is there, yes, sacrifice wala angle is also there....but for now that balance is being maintained between Adi-Imlie expressing their affection for each other while also grappling with not wanting to hurt Malini as they try to figure out a solution.

And I hope it continues to be maintained.....Adi-Imlie are the only ones who truly understand what they share with each other.....log toh usko label karne ki koshish karte hi rahenge tarhaan tarhaan ki baaton se tod marod ke....but these two know they are married to each other...she's the one he married first....she's the one loves but didn't realize for so long....yes, they've created other problems for themselves but that doesn't mean you hide from your own truth after realizing what your truth is.

The makers have managed a remarkable combination with Adi-Imlie wherein as you rightly pointed out, there is a sense of purity in their bond along with this deep intensity.....you can't help but root for two people who are indeed totally saaf-dil at the end of the day.....they aren't trying to deliberately hurt someone or cheat someone....but they are also not backing down from expressing their honest emotions which are just so innocent most of the time....the simplest of things bring them so much joy....simply being in each other's presence brings them so much joy.....how can you not find such a bond endearing?

@bold - woh cycle kar kya raha hai wahan pe 😆 if Aditya picks up and starts playing that guitar, I will holler. I sure hope they bring up his work assignments - because that is how it should be. Partners should be able to discuss what they do at work even if it is the bare minimum and especially if there was something momentous they were involved in or if they just had a plain crappy day.

What gets me about the subtlety every time is that Aditya and Imlie’s love for each other is extremely intense and they have not needed any extreme form of physical contact to bring that out on the screen. I hope they continue it; especially now that they are in the same house as Malini as well as the family.

Re Aditya’s reflections. Totally. PD was like another world for him. He had no control over what was transpiring within himself to even think about what complexities his family and Malini would bring in to his evolved feelings. It was nicely done in that sense

Re AC and Malini : oh yeah, I forgot about it 😆 It felt as though no one cared two hoots about either one of them once Imlie was back. The family felt it could resume breathing so they just let AC continue spouting her nonsense. As for AC pointing out Aditya not talking to Malini, it more and more feels like AC is trying to get Malini to turn her marriage similar to hers now that she has stopped trying to break it apart. +1 about the delusion. And this is completely homegrown. Looks like she was raised with a healthy does of relationship delusions from the very beginning

I think he knows😆.....as was obvious in the way he was teasing her at Holi too......but as I said in some of my previous posts, it's more about wanting that sense of assurance that she loves him enough to be with him. They are both grappling with the need to be with each other while also not hurting Malini in the process....that is what all their conversations are about....that is why Adi keeps asking her if she doesn't feel anything for him....he knows the answer but hearing it from her would solidify it more....kinda like something solidified the day he admitted that Imlie has made a place in his heart.

The thing is, if Adi didn't know how Imlie felt, he wouldn't be so unfazed even after she told him she doesn't feel anything for him😆....cuz when she said that to him in the Holi epi, he instantly countered with, "Par HUM toh karte hain" and continued to insist that she not leave him😆....they both know she didn't agree to come back to the house for his family...she came back for him😆. And he can see how happy she is to be back....if what she really wanted was to be away from him and out of his life, she wouldn't be so happy.

He wants to give her all the happiness, the rights that are her due and he hasn't been able to give her all this time....but she is the one trying to back away from claiming her rights....so Adi is fighting to give her that which she isn't even rightfully claiming.
