Why make a big deal about this guy, Sonu Nigam?

He's going to be forgotten in a couple of decades. Singers like Rafi and Kishore K live on because they had something unique to offer. Yesudas is technically brilliant and very emotive, too. Prob the most famous Indian singer would be Freddie Mercury.

So why is Sonu Nigam such a big deal in BW forum? I see at least 3 threads relating to him on page 1.

Arijit just started 7 years ago and has more iconic songs than Sonu had in his first 7 . And who knows way down the line Arijit gets his abhi mujjme kahi song to leave an even bigger monument for his competitors to catch up
