What was this Nomination
I would think that would be the guy from Anjaam lol.😆 Or one of his villainous roles
It says a lot of psychotic character is more well liked than a cheating husband
Possibly, yes.
It was such a DREADFUL character. No redeeming qualities. Not even the wardrobe department or songs could save him. Depressed and depressing to the core.
Bad husband, despicable father and worst of all boring as hell.

There have been cheating hubby characters before who didn't draw this much dislike.
KANK's charcter was selfish, insecure, hypocritical, mean to his own child, and all around loathsome.
I loved his and Maya's characters. Karan made me able to empathize with them.
They might have hurt their families but I still felt for them. They were unhappy and barely getting by.
Dev was bitter because the successful career he could have had was shot and instead he had to watch his wife become more successful than and even worse! The provider of the family.
The more she tried to be there for him, the more he resented her. Had they tried couple counseling, their marriage might have held on but in some cultures, it's sometimes not well-received to seek counseling.
As for Maya, her hubby was just perfect but she just didn't love him. Had she had this discussion with Dev in the park, she might have just stood Rishi up at the altar. She felt she owed ABSr for raising her (thus her marriage without love).
She was clearly unhappy and suffering her marriage. And Karan added to the mix the fact that this teacher who loved kids was barren. So her and her husband couldn't even connect with a child.
I feel she felt guilty because she couldn't find it in herself to love Rishi who in addition to being perfect, adored her and that she couldn't give him a child.
Down the line, had they not cheated and divorced, Dev would have end up being despised by his own son and Maya, Riya and Rishi would have been miserable.
Cheating is never the solution but it can happen. At least their spouse got to know about it and didn't have to live 20+ years with cheating liers.
I personally think Karan could have done worst with they characterizatio by not giving them all those reason to be unhappy and ultimately step out of their marriage.

I agree with all this. He was a douche bag 😆
Thats why i like this movie of all Kjo's. A douchebag ..he was and remains one. He does not magically change...Rani in the movie still chooses him over than a decent bloke like Abhishek....happens.

Isn't that mainly cause Abhishek wouldn't give her a 2nd chance 😆

yeah... why tell him ? she did not mind being thrown out...guessing!
On a side note, the scene where they were all at the same restaurant or something with Maya and Dev stealing jealous glances at each other made me literally barf. Got to be one of the most embarrassing, cringey and traumatizing cinematic scenes I have ever watched.🤢
