Okay, so here's the deal:
- A huge chunk of Rakhi's rants this season so far has revolved around her husband. She has always emphasized that "woh duniya ke samne nahee ayega."
- She "fell in love" with Abhinav (apparently thats entertainment 🤢) and said some truly off-color shit. Jo bhi ho, it was deplorable no matter how you feel about Rubinav, no one should be repeatedly harassed the way Abhinav was. Rakhi always made sure to say stuff like "my own marriage never worked out, but I see how he is with Rubina and I want that."
- Now that Salman has put a stop to the Abhinav saga, Rakhi is feeling lost. She's starved for attention and has been given an extra pressure to do stuff due to all the Weekend appreciation for being entertaining.
- Her main confidante in the house, Vikas Gupta, is now out. She's in need of support.
- Manu Punjabi (who seems pretty confident about his info, and was even on the show this season and was also apparently asked to be Eijaz's proxy first) has been hinting nonstop that both Ritesh as well as Disha Parmar are slotted to make short entries into the house.
- Last year, after the extension, they created a Connections week to keep interest going in the last month before finale season arrived. They might want to do something similar as its important for the show to build strongly towards a big finish. Because of Covid, it might be impossible to do a proper visit, but some socially distant thing might be in the plans.
- Look at how they cut the promo today - all signs point to bechari Rakhi needing a saviour.
To me, all these are pretty substantial points to consider but the main convincing factor is actually the edit itself. I'm sure the contestants talk about everything under the sun since they are trapped there for months with nothing to do all day. But we never heard much about things outside the game except a few instances (like Rahul's proposal, Vikas/Arshi drama, etc.). For example, we never learned much about Rubina/Nikki's conversations that led to their new seemingly strong friendship, or Devoleena's dog (who Rashmi said recently is all Devo talks about all day), or Arshi's family (who Eijaz etc. knew all about from her chats even though we didn't). This makes total sense. They have limited number of minutes to show and why would they confuse the audience with unnecessary outside characters. But they do seem to want to keep Ritesh in the audience's mind. So the question is - why is BB making sure to keep all this Ritesh talk in the edit? Are they building towards something in the final week? Thoughts?
