He whispers her name sometimes, in the dead of the night when he's sure no one will hear him. P-u-r-v-i. Five letters strung together, repeated like a chant until it begins to resemble something like a prayer. He doesn't want to say any other name again.

Purvi. Mad and brilliant and beautiful Purvi, making his brightest recollections pale under the sunshine of her smile. Making him wish a thousand things on shooting stars, things he has no business wishing for. Searing herself into his thoughts and memories. Permeating his soul like spilled ink on paper, until every inch of him is covered in her. Purvi, taking over his world. Purvi, changing everything.

Sometimes he catches himself wishing he was a different man. A braver man. One who's a lot less jaded. Other times he wishes he could go back to the time before he had met her, when he had been at peace with the idea of never knowing peace again, when he hadn't known the happiness he'd thought was lost to him forever is once more within his grasp. It'd been easier to live before.

He fears it'll be impossible to survive after her.
